Marijuana is a much safer drug than alcohol and about 50% of even tempered people get nice highs from Marijuana in just a minute {3 tokes )}.
However there are some problems with Marijuana for Christian use. It makes a Christian very desirous of sex with someone other than your mate and other forms of immorality. Christians should be controlled by God's Spirit and God's Word and not by some mind altering drug which can be very addictive. Christians have far better uses for their money like buying tracts and helping the poor.

I Corinthians 6:9-11: Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prosstitutes nor homosexual offenders nor *DRUNKARDS* will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God!
You can get sinfully *DRUNK* on Marijuana in one minute {3 tokes))which would usually take about 3 or 4 glasses of wine. Because of this it is probably wrong for Christians to get drunk on Marijuana even for medical reasons.

I think you make a fairly valid argument. I don't think the increased desire for sex as a result of using pot is true across the board. Pot is not an addictive drug and can be used responsibly for a multitude of medicinal purposes as well as recreationally. I would be careful to judge Christians who use it, especially for medicinal purposes. THC is one of the best treatments for several kinds of pain when even opiate derivatives are not helpful.
In my view, using any drug that is illegal to use is a violation of Christian law because Christians are told to obey the laws of the land. I do not however think there is any Biblical support for not using it for any reason.
The U.S. government will lie repeatedly about its effects as long as they wan it to be illegal. It is illegal because it is on the controlled substance list but pharmaceutical companies cannot patent an herb and there may be no way to control the dosage in a pill because the same amount of THC from one plant has a different effect than it does from another plant. It would have to be synthesized and I would have to assume that if it could be it would already have been done.
I suppose it is possible to get sinfully high on pot. But I must point out that people who are drunk are far more dangerous than people who are stoned. Drunks can become agitated and violent. :boxing: Stoned people generally are mellowed out by pot and do not become agitated or violent. :zzzz: This can be supported by statistics from several studies. I also don't believe that a person that is smoking pot will do anything that they would not have done otherwise as drunks will do. Pot may impair reaction times and thought processes but it does not keep people from being rational like alcohol does. Even members of law enforcement have state publicly that they would rather see pot legal instead of alcohol because pot users are far less harmful than drunks.
So yes, it is possible to sin while using pot, but not any more than not using pot. Here's the thing, as long as your thinking about sin is focused on the actions of a person then you are missing the point. According to Jesus sinning happens in your mind first. You act from your heart and mind. I don't think that anyone that smokes pot would commit a sin that they haven't already thought of. Drunks on the other hand lose control of their thinking and behave in ways they may not have ever imagined they were capable of. Their judgement is impaired so their thinking is skewed and their mind is out of control. Pot users in general do not have this problem. They usually just want to eat and take a nap.

I certainly agree with many of your good points somebuddysdream. Alcohol is a far more dangerous drug than marijuana. People drunk on Alcohol :devil:have far less control and are more dangerous that pot smokers.
However I disagree with your assertion that people high on pot have sexual control and would not do sinful things that they wouldn't do otherwise.
Whether Christians should smoke pot for medical relief depends on the person and how much he can control it.
Good pot in Colorado is going for about $200 to $400 an ounce which would be a sin since Christians can use their money for much better purposes than getting a good high.

*** Nope!!!...Its a Drug...just as Alcohol...Nicotin...Heroin...Opium...Cocain...Barbituates...Speed...Diet Pills...Steroids....Caffine...etc...etc...etc...My take on all the illegal stuff becoming legal is how better to keep a Nation down and at bay than to feed them what they cry for...all of these can have special uses when its absolutly necessary...:rolleyes:...Nope!!!...not a one of them is good for anything other than what people and scientists say its good for and all are addictive...
What does GOD say about all it ???...I really dont find in my Bible anything saying that it is OK to use a substance for the good of anything...except Saul/Paul saying use a lil wine for your stomaches sake which gives not clear reason why and to add to the Scripture what one thinks in means is not a good thing to do...xo

Today is the day of salvation. Abandon your sins, get cleansed and live in a renewed life as a son of God!
When we are born of God, God dwells in us, and in this case our bodies are the Temple if God. It means we are prohibited to smoke or intoxicate our body by drugs or wine...
Once an American missionary in Kazakhstan called me and invited to an Arabic restaurant. He ordered hookah to smoke. Can you imagine a missionary in Arab and Muslim world acting like Arabs and Muslims? It is an abomination for the God Jesus. I did not allow him to smoke and said that our bodies are holy for the dwelling of the Holy Spirit and any abomination/intoxication of our bodies is a madness. He was so angry and said that all Missionaries smoke in Iran...All such missionaries/Christians will be judged by God. God prohibits us to sin and calls to holiness. Those, who so boldly disobey God and live in sins, VIOLATING His commandments, will be among those who will be judged by God. He will start judgment from the Church of God.
Look what God said to us:

Then be holy as God is holy. Because His Son is coming back to establish His judgment on earth. Will you get rewards during this Judgment Day or punishment for disobedience and sins? Do not live in sins! Walk in holiness and holy life, walking with God Jesus. He is the Judge during this Judgment Day!

Imagine. I am a Christian and I live in Cairo (Egypt). My lover makes sex with me every day. God said:
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18
Am I saved in this case if I continue to live in sins? In sexual immorality? The answer is no. Not I should live, but God should live in me. This is what we call regeneration/the birth of God/ born again Christians. This is the new life. That�s why to live with God, we should abandon our sins. We should TURN from them and in this case we repent of our sins. This is the true repentance. God Jesus calls you to repent of your sins and abandon them. If you live in sins, God does not live in you! That�s why the Holy Scripture says that we should DAILY die for ourselves to live with God in a renewed life. Believe me no matter what I say (whether I am a Christian or not) if I will make sex with Arabs in Cairo, I will be JUDGED by God for my sexual immorality. No matter what you say (whether you are a Christian or not) if you will make sex with children in your Catholic Church, you will be JUDGED by God for your sexual immorality. No matter what you say (whether you are a Christian or not) if you will kill Americans, you will be JUDGED by God for your murders and God will judge you even in the USA by the American laws because His laws are almost the same. And you will be a killer for God in this case. Will He consider you as a Christian? Of course not. He addressed to you by saying that:

So, if you disobey God, it means you practice lawlessness and God will judge you for violation of His laws. He commands you (not gives you advice!): �You should be HOLY, because I am HOLY!� All sinners/killers/ sexual immoral people were killed in the life time of Moses because God cleansed His Jewish people from criminals/ sinners to make them righteous and HOLY people. That�s why God said in the Old Testament that He lives among His HOLY people Israel. If you do not want to live with God, you live against God. There is no third option!
That�s why die for your sins! Abandon your sins! Conform your life to high God�s standards to be a HOLY man of God and His follower and son adopted by Him through FAITH in the Son of God. Or you will live and die in sins and finally you will be judged by God for your sins/crimes because it is God�s nature: JUSTICE and It means that He hates our sins.
Effects of Denying the Resurrection
Otherwise, what will they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? Why then are they baptized for the dead? And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, �Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!�
Do not be deceived: �Evil company corrupts good habits.� Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. 1 Corinthians 15: 15: 29-34
Let me tell you it so: Awake to righteousness! Stop sinning! If you live with God you cannt sin! Do not sin! For some do not have the knowledge of God. If you know what God thinks about your sins, then ABANDON them! It is the true Christianity when daily you are refined (like gold) of all your sins (alloys) to live in righteousness and be READY to meet the Lord. Because He is coming back to judge this world for sins. Will you be judged by God for your daily sex in Cairo? Or will you be a HOLY son of God who will TURN hearts of Arabs to the living God and His Son Jesus? Save people and be worthy of your name: �a son of God�. Or return to your vomit like dog and to your mud pit like swine! If you prefer your sins, HOW can you dwell in the Presence of the HOLY God who HATES your sins?!
Thus, to enter into the God�s dwelling place, we should be ready and prepared by Him. That�s why get cleansed of your sins! Repent of your sins! Abandon them! ABANDON your lover in Cairo! Stop putting to your body what is abomination for God! Your intoxication is MADNESS and it made you a SLAVE of your sin- smoking. But the Truth of God can set you FREE. This TRUTH commands you to live a HOLY life because God is HOLY! Jesus took the sin of the world on the cross and if you will live during your life in constant sex with Arabs then HOW are you going to get to the Kingdom of God? You will live and die in your sins.
God Jesus tells you:
�unless you repent you will all likewise perish.�

Thus, if you bear the name �Christian�, then CONFORM your life to God�s standards. If you will live and die in sins i.e. in BOLD disobedience to God�s words then your way will perish and you will find yourself in the lake of fire judged by God for your sexual immorality, lie, anger, hatred, disobedience, disbelief�..And it is God�s nature JUSTICE will JUDGE you among millions of Christians who disobey the Creator of the universe Jesus and kill, make sex, take drugs and intoxicate their bodies by alcohol, cigarettes�WHY do they do it today? Because they do NOT Know God who is against their abominations! He is the JUDGE and soon He will start judgment from the Church of God.
Ponder: What is the difference between sexual immorality when you put inside of you sperm of other men or if you put there alcohol or drugs�..??? My answer: you sin against your own body.
God Jesus said that no one of unrighteous people will see the Kingdom of God!
He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.� Revelation 21:7-8

God Jesus died on the cross to give you FREEDOM from your sins. Abandon your sins! And you will be FREE! Get out of your slavery to be a FREE man and to set people FREE! The TRUTH- Jesus- gives you forgiveness of your sins. But if you will continue to live in your sins, then you will even die in your sins. God Jesus commands you: �� unless you repent you will all likewise perish.� Die for your sins to live eternally in God�s presence!

ON BEING BORN AGAIN, JOHN 3: 1-7
"Unless you are born again, you are not saved. How do you know you have been born again?"
"Be born again" - The word translated here "again" means also "from above" i.e. born of God.
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4
Love to people is an evidence of regeneration made by God!
To be "born of God" we need to repent and abandon our sins TURNING from them and confessing them to God in prayers. Those who have pleasure in unrighteousness will perish!
That is why the Son of God says that we should be "born of water" which is a symbol of baptism i.e. repentance.
Except a man be born of water in repentance and of God, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.
Having a new love for the truth of the Word of God and people and a new understanding can be indications that one is in faith.
Whoever has been born of God does not sin i.e. he does NOT live and continue in sin! Killers are NOT killers anymore! They ABANDON crimes!
If you are a sexual immoral person and you want to be BORN of God then REPENT and ABANDON your sexual immorality (porn/lovers/sex). Otherwise you deceive yourself thinking that you are a Christian but in fact you are a sinner.
9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. 1John 3
10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
If you are BORN of God then God is your Father and you are His child. If you BORN of Him then you have to practice RIGHTEOUSNESS!
How should Christians, who are BORN of God, live?
17 But whoever has this world?s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 1 John 3
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but IN DEED and in truth.
Now he who KEEPS His (GOD's) commandments ABIDES in Him, and He (GOD) in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
If we LOVE one another, God ABIDES in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have BOLDNESS in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
Are you LIKE GOD in this world? God is LOVE!
If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this COMMANDMENT (to fulfill) we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. 1 John 4.
KEEP this COMMAND implementing it!
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is BORN of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves HIM who is begotten of Him. 1 John 5
And everyone who loves Him who begot also loves HIM (i.e.Christians) who is begotten of Him!
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and KEEP His commandments.
We know that whoever is born of God does NOT sin; but he who has been born of God KEEPS himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.
So, to HAVE eternal life we need:
(1) Believe in the Son of God.
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5
(2) To be baptized in water, abandoning our sins and promissing God our good conscience, as a symbol and act of repentance.
(3) We need to live a GODLY/HOLY life KEEPING i.e. IMPLEMENTING commands of God and LOVING people in action...in DEED.
13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, 15 but like the Holy One who called you, BE HOLY yourselves also in all your behavior;
16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." 1 Peter 1
This is what you call "Christianity". This is the way to the Kingdom of God. That should be your REGENERATION to be a SON of God BORN of God.
Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
Are you BORN of God or of devil?
In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 1 John 3
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us (CHRISTIANS), that we should be called children of God!
We are CHILDREN of God!
Return to God you- backsliding CHILDREN of God! Repent and God will RESTORE you!
