Hebrews 13:1-2, "Let love of the brethren continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it."
Have you ever pondered this? Do you consider that there are angels (messengers of God) who may visit us at anytime? What would happen if one of God's holy angels visited here on the board? Would we show hospitality or would we be unloving, critical, or condemning? Angels are mentioned more than a few times in Scripture, do we give them thought or consideration?
The LORD and two angels visited Abraham to tell him Sarah would have a son and Abraham recognized them and provided water to wash their feet and food for their nourishment (hospitality). Genesis 18
Lot recognized them when the angels were sent to warn him to leave Sodom with his family. He protected them in his home (hospitality). Genesis 19
An angel visited Joseph in a dream saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for that which has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 1:20
The angel, Gabriel, was sent to Mary in Nazareth and he said to her, "Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you." When she was frightened he said, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and His kingdom will have no end." Luke chapter 1.
Angels visited the shepherds at the time of Jesus' birth, rejoicing and proclaiming, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased."
Luke 15:10, "In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." In the same way as the woman rejoiced over finding her lost coin.
Jesus said, "See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you, that their angels in heaven continually behold the face of My Father who is in heaven." Matthew 18:10 Their angels in heaven continually behold the face of His Father? Wow! I would think then that these angels have the 'ear' of God. What do we want them saying concerning how we treat others?
Mark 8:37-38, "For what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."
"He is not here, but He has risen." This was the message of the angels at Jesus' tomb when the women came with spices. Luke chapter 24.
I appears to me that God's holy angels (messengers) are pretty important. They were present for some amazing events in Scripture. Do we entertain angels unaware? Are we hospitable? What message do we want them bringing back to the Father?
Too many people are looking for celestial beings without understanding that the 'angels / messengers' are walking amongst us,and we give these PEOPLE no respect because they are just the average person without any type of seminary / CEMETERY degrees.
Nor do these same people have or look for any titles,or recognition.
These same people want to bring the truth of the Word of GOD to the people and they are called divisive, rebels, cultish, and many other names, only because they want the people to know who Yeshua is and what He is like.
Next time you are around people listen to their conversations and discern if they are of GOD or not.
Many times MESSENGERS of GOD talk with us,yet we are to consumed with ourselves that we cannot discern those which GOD Almighty has sent to speak with us.
Even on this site the MESSENGERS of Yeshua are called names and shouted down all to the hurt of the Holy Spirit and other believers.
Psalm 91:11 "He shall give his angles charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."
Another Bible verse supporting the fact that there are angels among us is, Psalm 34:7 "The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them."
A third Bible verse to support Hebrews 1:14 says," Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?"
