The Julian Calendar, was replaced because it did not correctly reflect the tropical year or solar year marked by Earth's revolution around the Sun. To get back in step with astronomical reality, a number of days were dropped in the new calendar, creating irregular months with only 18 days and odd dates like February 30.
Today most western nations use the Gregorian calendar, which is a solar calendar. It is called the Gregorian calendar because it was established in 1582 (Middle Ages?) by Pope Gregory VIII (Roman Catholic).
The Hebrew calendar is based on both Solar and Lunar movements. Since the Hebrew day begins and ends at sunset (Gen 1:3), the holidays (Holy Days) begin at sundown on the evening of the previous day. The New Year of the Hebrew calendar begins on Rosh Hashanah (September or October) which is coming up soon on Sept 24th 2014 Gregorian and 5775 God�s Year.
An easy way to calculate the Hebrew calendar year is to add 3761 to the Gregorian/Christian calendar year.
This year is called a Shmita year as well as a Sabbatical year or sheviit found in Exodus 23, Lev 25, Deut 15. It is also The Jubilee Year the end of seven cycles of (7 years) shmita. Jubilee deals largely with land, property, and property rights. Israel is considering a division of land at this time in History. Joel 3:1-2, Zech.14:1-2, Ezek.36:1-5, Psalm 83:1-7 etc�And our Prez Obama is all into �divide and conquer.�
So what is the problem and concern with the Gregorian/Christian Calendar ?...It�s NOT God�s Calendar. Going back to Genesis 1 (The Beginning) We find in�
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Signs�Seasons�Days�Years�and verse 18 God saw it to be Good and 19 it was on God�s Calendar the 4th day. There has never been Anything wrong with God�s Calendar. It just doesn�t fit with the rest of the man/world ways so it got changed more than once.
Pope Gregory�s Calendar has been followed ever since blindly and without question. This is a Fallen World and those that Sit in High Places appointed by man are as Corrupt as the corruptor!!! :devil:

Reminds me of Daniel and a verse that makes sense of what satan influencing man does to keep us from the Truth�

GOD makes no mistakes in His written WORD nor HIS Calendar. It is mankind and the way of the world under a delusion that makes the mistake and thinks and believes they have it all figured out. I could be very wrong about this however I do not believe I am. The Holy Scriptures is an excellent Historic rendering of all mankinds mistakes delineating from God�s ways.
SO my question is�If GOD has set an Appointment with You and you are using the wrong Calendar how will you know what day or time you are to be there ?.. :dunce:..

Rev 9:15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
And Peter mentions the length of day/years�
2 Pet 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Jesus Gives and Teaches us many a Parable and Warning about the End Times. Many believe all this happened in 70 AD with the Destruction of the Temple. I don�t believe this to be true.
When the Lord Jesus Teaches about the End Times He is careful to give Clear Concise Direction along with Imagery that can be Understood by simple folks. I myself am a simple woman, :rolleyes:.yet I can�t help but study and search the scriptures for in them I find everything about Abba, Yahshua, Holy Spirit that teaches me about me, man/woman, how to live and of course God�s ultimate plan of Redemption. :angel:
