I have been reading and studying the Word of GOD Almighty for a number of years, yet i cannot find in the New Covenant any mention of the 'church', or the organised religion called 'christianity'.
Since neither is in the Word of GOD Almighty, why are people believing something not in the WORD.
Someone will write, Jesus said ' I will build my church and the gates of hell will not overcome it. Just because the English translations use the word 'church' does not give any authority for its existence.
The Greek word ekklesia cannot be translated 'church', but that is what the translators have done to mislead people.

What is a church? A church is a gathering of Christians to worship, to learn, and to fellowship with God and each other. It can also mean the place where they come together. Now, that we have a definition to work with, isn't that what the 120 people were there for in the upper room when the Holy Spirit first came? (See Acts 1) By this definition, a synagogue is also a church. Jesus often preached in synagogues. Jesus also preached on a mountain. Today there is a monastery standing there.

How is it possible for you to give a Biblical defintion for the 'church', when the church cannot be found in the Word of GOD Almighty.
Tell me if i happen to be wrong, the 'church' service as it is called goes something like this.
The master of ceremonies atands up and addresses the crowd and says 'Let's WORSHIP, The people stand up, then sing songs which a MAN has chosen for everyone to sing. They sing for about 30 minutes, then the MOC (master of ceremonies) says Let's pray, but he is the only one allowed to pray publicly,everyone else says nothing. Then the MOC says you may sit down, and everybody like a robot sits.
The anouncements are read, maybe the MOC prays for the club dues, then people give their hard earned funds to pay for the MOC, and the building.
The MOC reads a prepared message, then says 'Let's stand to worship, then he prays again. After this hour or so of entertainment, the people are told to go home, only to do this again the next Sunday, with the same results.
I cannot find this so called worship service in the Word of GOD Almighty. Please read 1st Corinthians 14 verses 26 thru 33 to see how the believers are to be meeting.
Ask yourself, is there any mention of a single person called the pastor at this meeting of the Saints, or is there a 'worship band' or anyone called a church leader.
Meditate on that Scripture about 3 days before answering. Thanks
Exactly Silver! It is a group of people, called out to assemble together in a specified place, hence Jewish "temple" or Christian church "building" or a private home. It doesn't really matter about the "building" as we as Christians / Messianics are the "Temple / Church" !...
Hi Jude, there are two entities; the one is the so called ' church' and the other; The BODY of Messiah.
One is a dead organization, the other a living ORGANISM.
The one cannot be found within the Word of GOD Almighty for it has been made up by man, the other is being BUILT by the LORD of Glory, and The gates of hell will not prevent Him from building His ekklesia - ASSEMBLY - called out ones.
The one entity has programs of men, and programs needed to keep it going, book sales, pretzel sales, spaghetti dinners, etc.
The other entity breaks bread, and meets together according to 1st Corinthians chapters 11- 14.
One is of GOD Almighty and He takes responsibility to protect, and to provide and build up, the other man takes responsibility as it is the work of men.
IF any group of people is not meeting according to the Word of GOD Almighty 1st Corinthians 11-14, which is the will of GOD Almighty for His people,then are they not meeting according to their own standards which is rebellion.
If rebellion, then have they not looked to change what GOD Almighty says about the way He wants to be worshipped, and about the way they are to be meeting together.
What do you believe the Word of GOD Says about this.
Are you attempting to be a literary critic of English translations of Scripture? A' little' knowledge is often a dangerous thing (its generally incomplete & applied 'out of proper context'). I recall a well-respected man saying: "Text without context, is pretext." A truism. You 'appear' to be traveling in a 'circular argumentative' course. Plus the indwelling Spirit is required for correct spiritual discernment; the Bible tells us that the Word is spiritually discerned. Bible study (discovery of spiritual Truths) is a lifelong endeavor. Not a casual activity. Final recommendation: deprogram yourself from the 'doctrines of men' (biases and distortions of teachers, preachers, friends, cultural influences). Good luck.

Over the years i have heard A little Greek is dangerous, would not Joseph Gobelles have said the same thing. Actually NO english, or NO Greek is dangerous, for the sheep would be left defenseless against the wolves if they did not have some knowledge of the truth.Your argument is the same i have heard from the people called pastors at the churches around me.Yet these people never teach the sheeple how to read, study and translate the Word of GOD,reminds me of the Pharisees.
