Sexual abuse against WOMEN

This topic has been difficult to ignore. I have this unanswerable question of, " why are women sexually harrassed so much throughout their entire life?". It happens to many times to count. Lately my own experiences have been surfacing and replaying in my mind. I remember being 11 years old and having my mom's ex- husbands "friend" text me on a hidden number and tell me he was going to kidnap and rape me. He would send me a text almost everyday telling me he will take me and go out to dinner before we took it to the bedroom. He sent me these threatning and vulgar texts for years. There was another man that sticks in my mind. I was 17 and looking for a job, on my way home from turning in applications i ran into a man from my bible study. He just so happened to live next to a buisness i applied to. We were talking for awhile and then he said he wanted to show me a video about this man that died and went to hell and came back to life to tell what he saw. I agreed and went with him to his home. He handed me his laptop and played the youtube video and during the video he molested me and tried to rape me. I was 17 years old and he was in his 40's, i thought i could trust him..we went to bible study together for years, but he attempted to rape me while watching a video about salvation. Sexual abuse is apart of every woman's life, i just want to know why, but there is no real reason why. Almost all the females in my family have been raped, and every female ive talked to has experianced some sort of assault. Do any of you notice this, or feel this happening? Its getting old. I can hardly handle it anymore. I felt like sharing this and obviously didnt share too much information but enough to give a couple examples of typical harrassment in a young girl's life. Id like to add that men can be sexually assaulted as well, however, they werent born with a promise of assault to occur repeditively during their entire lifetime. In my opinion men might deal with sexual assault in their life time wheras women will deal with sexual assault in their life time.
