he Greek word **MESSIAS** is mentioned 2 times in the New Testament and is tramslated **MESSIAH** in John 1:4 and John 4:25. The Greek word **CHRISTOS** is mentioned 550 times in the New Tesatament and is translated **CHRIST** all 550 times. The Hebrew word for Messiah is **MISHEACH** and is mention in the Daniel 9:24-27 prophecy. Both **MESSIAS** and **CHRISTOS** in Greek means **THE ANOINTED ONE**.
The Father **ANNOINTED** Jesus in Matthew 3:16,17: As soon as Jesus was baptized He went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove on Him {The **ANOINTING**} And a Voice from heaven said, "This is My Son. whom I love; with Him I am well pleased!"
Jesus is **JOSHUA** in Hebrew and is pronounced **YESHUA** in Hebrew. Joshua means **GOD IS HELP** in Hebrew!!
Jesus who is also **GOD** **HELPED US** by atoning for our sins on the cross and giving us a **NEW COVENANT** of **FAITH** **HOPE** and **LOVE**!
Actually it is better to say that the Holy Spirit, The Spirit of the **ANOINTED ONE** and the Spirit of our Father lives ***IN*** our heart , soul and spirit when we accept the **ANOINTED ONE** as our Savior from sin and seek to obey His New covenant of Faith Hope and Love.
John 14:23: Jesus says, "Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching. My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make **OUR HOME** with them!"
Revelation 3:20: Jesus says, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come ***IN*** and eat with them and they with Me!!"
Thank you for the information about the title Messiah,BUT we are looking at the word 'IN'. What does the Word 'IN' reveal about a person's relationship with Messiah.
George to be IN MESSIAH i.e. IN CHRIST only MEANS TO BE APART OF CHIRT OR as you would have it MESSIAH. All those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ have accepted His finished work that were done on the cross for the remission of our sins... and are now His children. SUPPOSEDLY, APART OF HIM IN PSIRIT AS NEW CREATURES/NEW CREATIONS as Zsoltx has stated in his comment that, YOU ALREADY HAVE POINTED OUT IN YOUR OP.
But then again considering.... maybe you should explain to us in greater spiritual detail what it means to be "IN MESSIAH".. "IN" means...
Actually it is wrong to say that we should be **IN** Jesus the Messiah for we are saved when Jesus the Messiah is **IN US**! As follows:
The Greek word **MESSIAS** is mentioned 2 times in the New Testament and is translated **MESSIAH** in John 1:4 and John 4:25. The Greek word **CHRISTOS** is mentioned 550 times in the New Testament and is translated **CHRIST** all 550 times. The word 'IN' does not necessarily mean ones location in Messiah, but rather means the closeness of ones position or relationship.
Example: A man says that he is IN a relationship with a woman, BUT how close is he with the woman.
Is he in the relationship just to get something from her, OR is he IN the relationship because he wants to be with the woman and is willing to spend as much time as necessary to get to know who she is, and what she is like.
How many people calling themselves 'christians', have no understanding of who Messiah is or what He is like.
How many want to get something from Messiah but do not want to get to know Him. Yet they say that they are 'IN' Messiah.
They ONLY way to get to know Messiah is to spend as much time as necessary in the Word of GOD Almighty, for that is where we find Him.
