If you're familiar with "calvinisn", more accurately known as reformed theology, you'll get the TULIP allusion. :-) So what do you think? Does man choose God, or does God choose man? And no, please don't say God chooses on the basis of his foreknowledge of who would choose Him, that just makes me dizzy. :-P

I am neither a Calvinist nor an Armenian. I am in between, a little of both.

We must define foreknowledge. It refers to Gods love for his sheep, not based on any good merit. God knows the future, not bc he looks down the corridors of time(that view of a god is far to small) but because is is already in the future, sustaining it and upholding every created thing in it. God in never subject to the will of man. Man is always and forever subject to the sovereign will of God.

There is one clear exhortation and that is to believe the word of God, not interpret and then there will be no other doctrines.

God chose because we can't. Why?

Because we are spiritually dead (Eph 2:1).

A spiritually dead person cannot make spiritual decisions right?

Lazarus was dead and in the tomb. Jesus commanded him to rise and walk.

Can a dead person respond? No.

Can a dead person make a decision? No

Can a dead person at least hear? No

We all are in the same boat as Lazarus in that we are spiritually dead and thus cannot hear, respond or make decisions on spiritual matters because we are dead. Yet, Lazarus responded.

How did a dead man who had no ability to hear Christ's command obey and walk out of the tomb then?

Obviously because Christ enabled him to and he obeyed and walked out of the tomb. There is no other explanation for a dead person to be able to respond to someone unless the Lord supernaturally enables them to.

So who chose who?

The Lord because we are unable.
