Posted : 17 Apr, 2012 07:21 AM After reading more than a few profiles on here I have come to the conclusion that almost all of us (myself included) have been brainwashed by the media's portrayal of love and sex. let me explain: a bunch of people have a shopping list of qualities they want in their future spouse that an outside observer would think totally unrealistic! Now I know God is a big God and can do anything but what I think we fail to remember is Man has a big say in what he allows God to turn him into. Also, a big part of God's sanctifying of man involves man retaining his individual personality and identity. so although I do believe God can do anything I also think that some of us are looking for a stepford wife or husband :dunce: I guess it is a fine line between trusting God to give you the desire of you heart and just plain trusting God Post Reply

We can't expect the man or woman to look like they just stepped out of Vogue. lol. Course everyone has different preferences in what they like in a person. I think that's ok. But we have to let God lead us to that person. Get ourselves out of His way. He knows what He's doing....He doesn't need our help. :laugh: I've always been taught to be patient, wait on the Lord....but with patience brings tribulation...lol, I've prayed Lord, I don't want anything bad, but please help me to be patient...lol. Not only are the list of what they want unrealistic, I think some may exaggerate all that they are/do. It is amusing to me that we live in a country know for its "obesity epidemic" and poor overall health/exercise habits YET every profile I look at, the guy plays all these sports and LOVES the outdoors. The guy is always doing something! I also see so many who stress how important communication is, then when you message someone it is not uncommon to receive one word responses! Post Reply
