Dealing with a child leaving the nestPosted : 25 Aug, 2012 12:40 PMI'm with ya sister. The empty nest feeling is so hard. I felt like I had to learn how to be me beyond being a mother all over again. Didn't know what I was supposed to do with myself now that they had grown and left the nest. I can't say its been easy but it has become easier. I talk with them often, which never seems the same. At times felt like they didn't have time for me. Which was not true, they too were dealing with a change in their lives. I guess I can honestly say that it helps to get out there and do things, keep busy.. be happy. |

Dealing with a child leaving the nestPosted : 25 Aug, 2012 01:57 PMThanks for the words of wisdom and glad I am not the only one going through so many mixed emotions. She is two hours away and called her 3 times on my way home. Lol Not sure if it is because she is my only child but I miss her presence terribly. I went from being a teenager to being a mom. You hit it dead on as I have to find me and she has to blossom into being someone other than just my daughter. Thank you so much for prayers! |
