Dealing with a child leaving the nest

Hello All

Dropped my only child off to college on Thursday and not taking it as well as I thought I would. Just wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom to help me get through it. Thanks!

I'm with ya sister. The empty nest feeling is so hard. I felt like I had to learn how to be me beyond being a mother all over again. Didn't know what I was supposed to do with myself now that they had grown and left the nest. I can't say its been easy but it has become easier. I talk with them often, which never seems the same. At times felt like they didn't have time for me. Which was not true, they too were dealing with a change in their lives. I guess I can honestly say that it helps to get out there and do things, keep busy.. be happy.

Lifting you in prayer sister and believing that things will get easier.

Abundant Blessings

Love ya

Thanks for the words of wisdom and glad I am not the only one going through so many mixed emotions. She is two hours away and called her 3 times on my way home. Lol Not sure if it is because she is my only child but I miss her presence terribly. I went from being a teenager to being a mom. You hit it dead on as I have to find me and she has to blossom into being someone other than just my daughter. Thank you so much for prayers!
