Peplink is a company that is able to build a meshnetwork.

The way that I understand thins is that Peplink can set things up so that a county can establish their own "mini internet"

Mesh networks, or meshnets, represent a transformative approach to connectivity by utilizing a decentralized architecture that enhances communication and data transfer. Unlike traditional networks that depend on a central router, meshnets consist of multiple interconnected nodes that communicate directly with one another. This structure allows for a more resilient and flexible network, capable of adapting to various conditions and requirements.

How Mesh Networks Work

In a mesh network, each node acts as a relay point, forwarding data to other nodes. This means that data can take multiple paths to reach its destination, which significantly improves reliability. If one node fails or becomes disconnected, the network can automatically reroute the data through alternative paths, ensuring continuous connectivity. This self-healing capability is one of the key advantages of meshnets.

Key Features of Mesh Networks

Decentralization: There is no single point of failure, making the network more robust against outages or disruptions. Each node contributes to the overall network strength.

Scalability: Adding new nodes to a mesh network is straightforward. As more devices are introduced, they can seamlessly integrate into the existing network, expanding coverage without the need for extensive infrastructure changes.

Cost-Effectiveness: Mesh networks can reduce the need for expensive cabling and centralized hardware. This makes them particularly appealing for rural or underserved areas where traditional infrastructure may be lacking.

Improved Coverage: Mesh networks can extend connectivity to hard-to-reach locations, such as large outdoor spaces or remote communities. The overlapping coverage of multiple nodes ensures that users can maintain a strong connection even in challenging environments.
