1. Tongues is the supernatural evidence of the infilling, The Gift of the Holy Ghost, also know as the baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Acts. 2:4

I remember the first time I spoke with other tongues, a visitation from heaven.



2. Tongues is for Spiritual edification: a supernatural means of speaking with the father.

1st Cor.14:4



3.Tongues remind us of the Spirit's indwelling presence, praying and worshiping God in tongues helps reminds us of the Spirit's Indwelling presence.



Jn 14:16,17



4. Praying in tongues will help us keep our prayers in line with God's will.

I have a brother in heaven today because of this truth right here.

5.Praying in tongues Stimulates faith.

Jude 20.



6.Praying in tongues keeps us free from worldly contamination. if you are in a very worldly setting you can quietly pray in tongues.

9.Tongues is also for Giving Thanks

10. Speaking in tongues brings the tongue under subjection, for you have to yield your tongue to the Holy Spirit, and when you learn to yield this unruly member you can yield any member of your being to the holy ghost.
