THE MENTOR
I see as you are
Not with eyes of prejudice or fault
But with anticipation of your every move...
Your voice is like a melody waiting to be sung
I hang onto every note with envy
Contemplating the next harmonious passage...
Consumed by the thing I fear most
I relish in the fragrance of courage and strength
Emmanating from you and am totally captivated...
Deep within me lies the essence of your soul
That I might someday walk as you walk now
Never measuring another by wealth but rather by
character portrayed...
Love does not describe what you mean to me
My Teacher, Guide, and Friend
May I someday be the reflection of this Priceless Encounter!
( this poem was written about a very special teacher who helped me to recognize my potential...years ago)
yes those are the two songs,,, but i thought you knew , thankk god for the preacher because you said ," scared the hell out of you,,,, In the original song that is what was said instead of him scaring sin out of me,,,, so I changed it just because of offence.
bud chambers made me a funny cassette tape back in 1986 that I still have it and I was listening to it just this week.
So here is one more very short song,,, you might ask why songs on a poem post,, well,,, songs are poems with music to them,,,,, so one can put music to your poems and you will have a song,,, God bless.

Here goes mine for the day. I wrote it last night. Surprisingly it came pretty easy. I think Robin has woken up a talent in me ,I didn't know was there.
I've titled this one ---- The Enemy
He sat watching from the sideline
As I bowed my head and cried
His attack was strong; unyielding
As I fought the pain inside.
He did not seem to realize that
I wouldn't give up the fight
I knew the Lord was by my side
Such Glory ! Such Power ! Such Might !
He may as well just let me be
He can move on down the road
I'm not in this alone, you see
The Master carries my load
So when satan does attack me
On every side, like a flood
I'll just Praise God even louder
Thank You, Jesus, for the Blood !
This walk can't always be easy
We weren't promised an effortless race
But the fight will all be worth it
When we see Our Savior's Face
