Shifting



I feel there is a shifting

Of what, I do not know�.

The things of life are not the same

A stirring in my soul�



A restless urge to read the Word

And moments to reflect�

Of what the Lord is saying now

I must, I need, inspect�.



It�s time to open all the gifts

That God has given me�

And put them all in His great work

To all of those in need�



Just guide me Lord in this new realm

And hold me up, I�m asking�

Please let me know just what to do

In you, I am now basking�

THE EAGLE AND THE SWAN



Come along with me today

I�ll tell you all a story�

About a swan so lovely and

An eagle all in glory�



She was so unobtrusive,

When she first came on the scene�

Quietly among the reeds

With tucked and folded wing..



He had been flying very high

His head was bowing low�

When he caught a glimpse of her

His spiral lost control�



Her neck so long and lovely

And her body full of grace�

Her movement on the water

Made him lose his kingly pace�



He stood and stared in wonderment

She wasn�t like the rest�

And then she turned and smiled at him

Which took his very breath�



Should he approach or stay right there

Where it was so familiar�

Or take a chance to know this one

Who seemed so strange, peculiar�



He rose above her head so she could see him full in flight.

She stood amazed, in wonderment

At such a handsome sight.



Although the wind had battered him

He stood with such great strength

And then he opened up his wings

Of great proportion, length�



And held her closest to his heart

Protected at all times

With wisdom, courage, aptitude

Safe from the cold, outside�



Now I am asking all of you

Is this a likely bond�.

Between the mighty eagle

And the very lowly swan?
