Are We Really Compatible?

[Sometimes postings can get so serious . . .lighten up. I found this poem I wrote years ago and thought it might be appropriate for this venue.]



Nearly every day I encounter him

He ignores my commands left and right

No matter how much of a hurry I�m in

He always puts up a fight!



I try to deal with him sweetly

And pat him on the back now and then

But then he freezes up and says �reboot�

And now look at the mess that I�m in!



I have projects that were due yesterday,

And my boss wants to know why they are late

It�s hard to explain without being detained

Why Mr. Computer is irate!



If only he could learn to be compatible

By doing as I wish and not as I type

Just go with the flow and accept my data

Without giving me programming hype!



But maybe it�s not all his (de)fault

I could be the one in the wrong

If I would have read the instruction manual

And not written this silly �song�.
