Why not weekly?

Monthly?

Annually?

Or, hourly?

I'm just curious why the chosen time frame is daily.

What I have in mind is:

- manna was given daily

- daily means we have to depend on God everyday (well every second to be more accurately)

- bread would be rotten after being uneaten after few days, and the most delicious breads are the ones that fresh from the oven (yumm)

Any thought, bro and sis?

I think it's a play on the Lord's prayer. "Give us this day our daily bread." The Hebrew people ate bread every day. It was a substantial part of their diet. Without it they could go hungry. I think this is why bread is included in the Lord's prayer.

I don't study my Bible every day. But I do have alone time with my Father every day. I think another analogy for this mention of bread in a prayer might be that our daily bread comes from spending time alone with our Father. It is He that nourishes us and He that cares for us. We should be talking to Him, asking Him questions and offering our thanks and praise to Him every day. This is our daily bread that we must ask for in prayer and so receive in prayer.

I think "give us this day our daily bread" doesn't necessarily mean food. We can fast for days and live without any nourishment.

John 6:35---- And Jesus said unto them, I am that Bread of Life.

I believe He is Our Daily Bread.

God Bless,

Deborah

It is real simple, the word of God is spirit and it is food to our spirit. When we spend time in the word we are fellowshipping with JESUS

Thanks for all the answer, guys! =)

Yes, our daily bread is a part of Our Father's prayer, and yes daily bread means His Words aka Jesus Himself (John1:1). I was just wondering why the time frame was daily, and now I understand =)

God bless!

@Everyone:

This is not the LORDS prayer,Yeshua is teaching His Jewish disciples to be praying to the GOD who they refused to call by name.

They were taught that YHWH's name was too Holy to be spoken, hey substituted Addonia ofr his Name(s).

Yeshua tells them of having a relationship with the One whose name they would not speak.

Our ABBA/Father-Speaks of relationship.

The Jews relationship was one of Creator and creation, not Father and children.

Our Father-Relationship

Which art in Heaven or Which are in the Heavens:Residences

Hallowed be thy name:Reverence and rightly understanding His position and my position throughout eternity.

Thy Kingdom(Kingship)come,

Thy will being done on earth as it is being done in the Heavens:Righteous Reciprocation.

Give us this day our daily bread:Remembering my position in this life.

ABBA is my Benefactor and I,though His adopted son;

I am totally dependant upon him as a beggar before Him.

And forgive us our debts,as we forgive our debtors:

Relationships need daily restoration.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

Rightly directed during our time here.

For thine is the kingdom/kingship, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Recognizing, that everything in this life is about YHWH.

I came into this world at His bidding, and I will leave having Yeshua and Him alone for my Saviour and Master.

The Real prayers of Yeshua are as follows, these would be known as the LORDS Prayers:

There might be more, yet these are just to show that Yeshua did actually pray,

And many times He went away by himself into the mountains/hills to pray during the nights.

Mat 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Mat 26:40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

Mat 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Mat 26:42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Mar 14:34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

Mar 14:35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

Mar 14:36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

Mar 14:37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

Mar 14:38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

Mar 14:39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

Mar 14:40 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.

Mar 14:41 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Luk 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Luk 22:40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

Luk 22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

Luk 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Joh 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

Joh 11:42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

John 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

John 17:6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

John 17:7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

John 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

John 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

John 17:10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

John 17:13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 17:18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

John 17:25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

John 17:26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

May we stop following and listening to mens beliefs and follow Yeshua.
