Question about widows - just wonderingPosted : 21 Sep, 2007 05:56 PMDoes the idea that I am a widow scare men? Seriously, I've been single for five years and I get the oddest looks when I finally have to tell a guy this. I don't go out of my way to announce it or talk about it. |

Question about widows - just wonderingPosted : 23 Sep, 2007 12:04 PMNo not at all. it MAY catch him in a weird state if he's been dating you for a month hand suddenly you spring it on him that you are widowed. But no it shouldnt scare anyone. my advice to you would be bring it up somehow in conversation withing the first 2 weeks (2-3 date). and it really isnt that hard to bring up. It can be as simple as wanting to tell a story and telling them that you were married at one point. Then the only NATURAL reaction would be "you were married? what happened?" and then you can say that your husband had died due to _____. you can even tell him that you were broken up and it took several yrs or whatever to get over it. the more Honest you are in the beginning the better it is to accept. that way they dont feel like they werent "mislead" about the girl they were perusing. but at the same time dont DUMP it all on him lol. dont say how you would lock yourself in your room for days at a time. just give him a little and let him know that you loved your husband and he was everyhting to you. |

This is due to the fack that you have weathered the tough times, and survived. Stay strong, and you will find the right one. |

If you keep it as a secret in the beginning of the getting to know each other I think it would make the man wonder what else you are not telling. I have yet to have a man be scared because of it. |
