my Christian book got published
Posted : 16 Dec, 2014 07:04 PM

I just recently was lucky to have my first book of my own published by Tate Publishing. Here"s a link to the book site:

https://www.tatepublishing.com...

Here"s an overview.

Chapter one is a critique of general atheist philosophical arguments against God"s existence. One point I make is that atheists are inconsistent in often claiming people can make no valid intellectual claims about God while at the same time using an intellectual claim about God to invalidate God"s existence " the claim that there is evil in the world that would never be created or allowed to exist if God did really exist.

Chapter two is a critique of a few of Richards Dawkins" arguments which have, of course, been featured in many other publications. However, I combine this chapter with a critique of Susan Blackmore since both argue for the existence of memes and their control over us. Blackmore, in particular, argues against the existence of the self (it"s an illusion created by memes) but writes as if one does exist.

Chapter three critiques atheist arguments against the existence of God-made objective moral precepts. I lean heavily on a critique of Michael Ruse"s Taking Darwin Seriously.

Chapter four is called a chapter that critiques "professional skeptics," in particular Michael Shermer. I also critique Bill Maher"s recent Religulous because he sells skepticism too although in a different way. I conclude that Shermer"s arguments are bunk and Maher hasn"t seriously studied religion in a way to provide a decent critique of it.

Chapter five studies some recent arguments about the intelligent design movement.

Chapter six talks about the political philosophy of liberalism. My overriding point in this chapter is that secular philosophies like humanism, liberalism, and socialism deny the existence of human sinfulness and this denial has serious consequences.

Chapter seven critiques atheist arguments against the existence of the soul " particularly their reaction to near-death experiences. I also criticize the arguments of Steven Pinker and Daniel Dennett in the way they deny the existence of the soul as well.
