- About Me
-
I was a stay-at-home wife, home-schooling Mom of three sons for 22 years.
My eldest two sons run their own businesses. The eldest, Andrew (26) has been building his business from home for several years. He married a precious and beautiful, young lady. My second son, Benjamin (24) purchased a small company when he was 21, which he is successfully growing. He married his best friend and they now have two baby boys. Praise God! I love being a Grandma. :)
My youngest, Noah (22) is a carpenter. He has done all sorts of work for one so young. Although he has his hvac certification, he has spent more time working in carpentry, concrete/mud-jacking, electrical, a auto mechanic, and even worked as a tech in telecommunications for about a year.
My late husband (of 21 yrs) passed away in August of 2010. It's hard to understand sometimes when the young are called home so quickly, but each of our days is numbered; so I must believe that the Lord's purposes were fulfilled and that his joy is made complete with Christ. It took me some time to grieve the loss. It still felt strange for a long time to be "not married." He was and is the only man I've ever "known." I asked the Lord to keep me from being distracted in pursuing a relationship again any time soon after his death - as my sons were only 16, 14 and 12 years old, when their father passed. I knew they would need my focus and time. I just asked..."that if it were His will, to equip me to be willing to stay single while my young sons grew a little older." Of course, I was always open to the idea of His bringing an earthly father figure to them by way of marriage for me; but I didn't want to seek after it out of fear or loneliness...or any other non-proactive reason to get married.

For 10 years, I focused on moving forward with the growth and development of my sons. I have seen much fruit of that labor. They are young adults now. I pray often for them as they get their start in adult life. Life has been changing at a rapid pace in our family. I have two daughters (in-love) and two grand babies. God has blessed in so many ways!
I've had opportunities to learn and grow as well. Because I’d had experience in building in the past, about 6 years ago, as a project, I purchased a house for my sons and I to completely gut and remodel. I acted as the realtor to purchase it, though I am not licensed) but researched, made connections, and then negotiated the purchase. I acted as general contractor, carpenter, errand runner, and as the designer. :) I completely changed the layout of the floor plan, removed some walls, created new rooms, and added structural elements to open up the space. Apparently, the finished product turned out nice...at least that's what the realtors told me. It sold fast. It was a great (and somewhat exhausting) experience.
I’ve long enjoyed following the real estate market and also keeping up with what's new in home design. I have some skill in construction, so I enjoyed working with subcontractors on several portions, while I also worked "hands on" in between. It even surprised me just how much I have come to enjoy the design aspect as well.
A couple of years ago, I accepted a position as an Accounting/Office Manager for a small, but growing business. Earlier this year, I accepted the position as a Project Manager for a general contracting company. It’s a perfect fit and I love it.

I'm still a relatively young widow. I believe that marriage is a wonderful institution designed by God and it would be great to one day marry again. I'm not interested in "dating" just for dating's sake alone. However, I do realize that writing, talking, and spending time together is necessary to decide if two are good together and ultimately to determine if marriage is God's will. I'm just being upfront about my overall purpose for having a profile on this site. My ultimate goal (and I know this takes TIME) would be for a marriage that might seek to glorify God, imperfectly, but that seeks Him, none-the-less.
I tend to be a good communicator, with clear purposes, but also enjoy just being in the moment. I have been blessed with so many amazing friendships...seriously, I'm just so blessed! I enjoy having great conversations with friends and family, sometimes over coffee or a meal. I enjoy movie nights too, most often in a home.
Theology and faith in Christ, is the starting place for a dating relationship...as it is foundational for each and every day of life...how we see our world, how we respond to the world around us and to Whom we seek for answers, purpose, strength and hope. I've had the great honor of serving Christ since I was only 13 years old. He has taught me much and has faithfully been my steadfast hope through life's many trials. Serving our Lord Jesus Christ, so pitifully at times, has been my life's greatest privilege. How thankful I am for His mercy in pulling me out of darkness and bringing me into His marvelous light, while yet so young. No doubt He has spared me much hardship and the many vices that accompanies a life without Him. It has not been without many trials, but none that He did not patiently and mightily see me through. He has been and is using them to mold and refine me like clay on a potter's wheel.

- An ideal date would allow enough opportunity to talk and to get to know one another.
Coffee or cafe. Live music would be a bonus.
