About Me
I want to start by saying that I don't feel like posting a picture, because I don't want my friends/family knowing that I'm looking for a girlfriend/wife online. I will describe myself and if you are still interested ask me for a picture and I will send you one. I am in pretty good shape, mainly because my job is just like going to the gym for 8+ hours some days. I am going bald, but whatever ... I am cool with it and you should be too. I do cut my hair really short though, especially in the summertime.

I am a born-again (water-baptised & Spirit-filled) Christian and my church and family mean the world to me. I am not interested in being unequally yoked with anyone, so if you're not a Christian you'd be wasting your time. However, I'm willing to help you make a commitment to Christ and accept Him as your personal savior. Just don't expect a serious relationship until then. With that said I am also interested in finding someone who is serious about the Lord and living for His Kingdom. Girls that say they're Christians are a dime a dozen (unfortunately); but I'm looking for someone who is or wants to be more than a casual Christian. I want to spend my life with someone who wants the best God has to offer.

I have to admit that I'm not attracted to supermodels. I figure that if you're a supermodel, what would make you want to hang out with an average joe like me. I've typically fallen for women who can cook well and know how to handle a mop and bucket. I know, call me old-fashioned. I have found that I am attracted to petite women. I also find that women who follow the pattern of a spiritual woman set forth in the Bible are especially attractive.

I mention above that I am "open/undecided" on the issue of children. Let me explain: I love children, I have 2 nephews and 2 nieces who love me. I am pro-life. I just think this world is a tough place to raise kids and is getting even tougher. But I guess technically, it's not really my decision in the long run. I don't claim to know alot about the birds and the bees, but what I do know is guys don't get pregnant!

I enjoy volunteering when I'm not working, especially for my alma mater. As a result of recent events in the world, I've refined my views on volunteering. I am more of a "teach a man to fish instead of giving him one" type of volunteer. I also prefer working with local charities, like a local soup kitchen, instead of global charities.

I am also not really interested in traveling. I don't want to "see the world" and am happy with Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. That doesn't mean I won't go on vacation somewhere, but I'm not the trendy jet-setting type of guy.

My job is that of a "tent-maker," as the Bible heartily recommends. I could argue that I work in a hospital, but I'm not a doctor, or a murse (male nurse), or someone who runs the vacuum. I'll give you extra points if you can correctly guess what I do for a living. I do work hard at my job and when I retire I hope to live on a farm and take it easy. I recently purchased a small farm, so all I have to do now is retire ...

Also, since I own a small farm, be aware of what you're getting into. If you don't think you want to live on a farm, are addicted to facebook or the internet (service is sketchy at best out here), want to live a life of luxury, it won't probably work out between us.

I am a musician, and use that term loosely; I used to play the guitar when I was young but now play the drums. I've played in several bands, including an 80's cover band, but I'm currently not playing in any bands and not really looking to join any right now.

I used to think I was a Republican, but during the last election I voted for Bob Barr (Libertarian) because I just couldn't bring myself to vote for John McCain. McCain and other Republicans just don't stand up for their values anymore. I recently voted for Mitt Romney because I think America needs a businessman to get it back on the right track. I have to say that I agree more with Alan Keyes and Glenn Beck's points of view as opposed to alot of the crackpot Libertarian conspiracy theorists. However, as a Christian, I take politics with a grain of salt. I know that politics is just a vehicle by which God brings the end of the ages forth.

As far as music, I listen to a little of everything other than rap and metal (how come everyone always says that). I grew up on classical, jazz, and oldies. In my teens I listened to alot of classic and prog rock. Now I mainly listen to a lot of indie rock, bands like Anberlin, Tokyo Rose, Daes Vail, There For Tomorrow, This Day & Age, etc. Currently on my iPod: Rookie of the Year, Everyday Sunday, Hawk Nelson, Mashlin, The Send, Capital Lights, Relient K, Waking Ashland, some Norwegian Recycling, and The Reign of Kindo. Also when it comes to Christian music, I'm careful with what I listen to. I feel that Christian music should be listened to when you're preparing yourself for a time of worship or devotion and really isn't the type of music to clean your house or work-out to.
First Date
Well, I think a great first date is an ice-breaker and its got to be something fun, like paintball (or its less-painful counterpart: lasertag), white-water rafting, going to an amusement park, etc. These events can be expensive without a group, though. Just meeting for coffee can also be a good first date as long as its not McDonalds coffee. Dinner and a movie aren't a very good first date. Well, I guess dinner is fine but people always shoosh me when I try talking to my date at a movie.
