I'm a pot that's been looking for his lid for a long time. I'm patient because lids aren't one-size-fits-all. My lid has a better chance of fitting, if she can at least appreciate intellectual pursuits.
Asking questions, makes my heart smile, rolling your eyes when you don't understand, does not.
I'm passionate in my interests and pursuits and I would hope that my lid has her own. If they're different from mine, that's even better. I'm a knowledge sponge and will relish learning about yours.
I'm keen on diversity of thought, but not a fan of superficial diversity--you know, the kind that only accepts you if you think and "feel" just like they do. I believe that love comes in all colors, shapes, and sizes, but there is nothing wrong with having your own preferences.
I'm pretty tolerant of thoughtful, well-reasoned opinions, but for long term relationships (and that's the only kind I'm interested in), I know it's best to be upfront about your core beliefs. My core is occupied by the Living God, who has blessed this broken man immeasurably. Even though I stumble and fall all too often, my life and relationships are still guided by His principles.
If what I've described above makes you think I'm a boring, stuffed shirt conservative, then I say to you, Miss potential lid, be prepared for a surprise. I have a child-like spirit, with loads of curiosity, a wicked sense of humor, and honestly, I really don't take myself all that seriously. It would be best if you didn't either.
