So I am a sinner saved by grace. Far from perfect, yet a work in progress. Ephesians 2:13 says "for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." And also Philippians 1:6 "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."
Here is the bad news, with the Gospel message(Gospel means 'good news' ). Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death(bad news), but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.(good news) and Romans 3:23-24 says "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God(bad news), and are justified by his grace as a gift through the redemption in Christ Jesus our Lord(good news).
So you see, we have all sinned, fallen short of God's glory, and deserving of death. Notice, it is Christ who is the gift and who redeems us. How can your good deeds save you if the Bible says that because you habe sinned you have fallen short of the glory of God, and that your wages is death?
Consider Ephesians 2:8-9 which says "for by grace you have been saved, through faith. This is not your own doing, but is the gift of God, so that no one may boast."
You see, Grace which means "unmerrited favor" is what saves you. It has nothing to do with what you do, or else if it did, you could boast. Faith, and salvation is not your own doing, but it is a free gift from God.
What is your faith in? Well it ought not be in your own works, but rather in what Christ has done.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that who ever believes(ie.trust,faith)in him will not perish, but have eternal life.
Romans 10:9-10 says "If you confess with your mouth, that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
And 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For our sake, he(the Father) made him(The Son) to be sin, who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
You see, Jesus took our sin, and he imputed his righteousness to us and he bore the wrath of God on the cross in our place. He died the death that we deserve so that we might be forgiven of our sins, and have eternal life with God in heaven, as adopted sons and daughters.
So put your trust in Jesus Christ, and stop trying to earn your salvation. The law is to much of a burden to bare, thats why Jesus said "Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
So basically I am seaching for a future wife, a Proverbs 31 kind of woman, who believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and lives her life in daily persuit of him, and daily denial of herself. If this is you, please feel free to message me🙂
