Over my 31 years of life I have experienced a number of rich life experiences; too many to condense into a short summary, and all have shaped the person I have become. But I will try to touch on a few of the highlights!
I have been fortunate enough to have been raised in a stable, two-parent home, in a primarily rural environment, alongside my two brothers and many pets. I was raised Christian, and my faith is still a very important part of my identity (I am an ordained elder in my church and attend regularly). My faith has helped me to weather whatever storms life throws at me, and is a source of comfort and strength.
I consider myself a “third culture kid” having spent five years of my childhood as a missionary kid in the East-African country of Tanzania. I also hold some connection to India; my mom’s birth country. I think these experiences, and others, have uniquely helped me to be open to different cultures and ways of thinking.
I am college educated, and I currently work as a Clinical Engineer at a large hospital in the Seattle area. I love what I do. It’s more than just a job for me, it’s a calling. I love being able to use my skills to help improve the safety and comfort of patients, and to me, there’s something magical about being able to take a piece of equipment that is malfunctioning or broken and fix it.
My friends would describe me as a deep thinker, a good listener, t fiercely loyal. I consider myself introverted, but I do like scheduled social outings that embrace learning and compassionate relationships.
