I am not English, I live in Canada, can’t change my profile location. Not an exciting story to tell but hey I do wish I lived in a nice cottage away from the big cities in a small English/Scottish/Welsh village. Generally an introvert, happy on my own but open for the right person. Committed Christian, follower of Christ. God above all, everything else comes secondary. I enjoy the out doors, be it kayaking down my local river, riding my motorcycle down quiet country roads or sitting on my front porch watching the world go by. I enjoy travel, by road, sea or air, I have been fortunate to have done a fair bit from the Middle East, Europe, N. America. I enjoy reading, more so the great works. Art and music, symphony to rock. I love beauty in all its form. Truth, beauty and goodness.
“There is no justice in love, no proportion in it, and there need not be, because in any specific instance it is only a glimpse or parable of an embracing, incomprehensible reality. It makes no sense at all because it is the eternal breaking in on the temporal. So how could it subordinate itself to cause or consequence?”
― Marilynne Robinson, Gilead
"When you visualized a man or a woman carefully, you could always begin to feel pity . . . that was a quality God's image carried with it . . . when you saw the lines at the corners of the eyes, the shape of the mouth, how the hair grew, it was impossible to hate. Hate was just a failure of imagination."
- Graham Greene, The Power and the Glory
“Don't you like a rather foggy day in a wood in autumn? You'll find we shall be perfectly warm sitting in the car."
Jane said she'd never heard of anyone liking fogs before but she didn't mind trying. All three got in.
"That's why Camilla and I got married, "said Denniston as they drove off. "We both like Weather. Not this or that kind of weather, but just Weather. It's a useful taste if one lives in England."
"How ever did you learn to do that, Mr. Denniston?" said Jane. "I don't think I should ever learn to like rain and snow."
"It's the other way round," said Denniston. "Everyone begins as a child by liking Weather. You learn the art of disliking it as you grow up. Noticed it on a snowy day? The grown-ups are all going about with long faces, but look at the children - and the dogs? They know what snow's made for."
"I'm sure I hated wet days as a child," said Jane.
"That's because the grown-ups kept you in," said Camilla. "Any child loves rain if it's allowed to go out and paddle about in it.”
― C.S. Lewis, That Hideous Strength
Very private person with a love hate relationship with technology. Wonderful tool but so many negatives I lately wonder if it is worth it. No Facebook. Twitter or Instagram, I am happily anti social without the aid of apps. Vows are made before God and are sacred, not something I take lightly in any situation. Tom Barnaby is the best Barnaby.
“But now I discovered the wonderful power of wine. I understand why men become drunkards. For the way it worked on me was—not at all that it blotted out these sorrows—but that it made them seem glorious and noble, like sad music, and I somehow great and reverend for feeling them. I was a great, sad queen in a song. I did not check the big tears that rose in my eyes. I enjoyed them. To say all, I was drunk; I played the fool.“.

- Keep it simple, chat, email, text. Get to know each other and see what comes of it. Open for long distance. Let God lead the way, not looking for someone to “complete me”, but possible a partner for the journey in these shadow lands.
Why not send me a song link, why you like it and I will send one in return. Can learn a lot through musical tastes.
