- About Me
-
I'm not judgemental of others; sure, I have preferential company, but that's different: it's just a preference. Moreover, I think people can pursue happiness any way they like; provided it does not impact another's ability to do similar. This also plays out in that my religion has no real denomination; I was Christened as 'Church of England', but my relationship with the divine requires no particular form of Christianity as a conduit. As a result -- getting to the point now -- I do not shun any religion that seems to worship the same God, Jehovah.
I work as an Information Technology Manager as well as tending to my own consultancy firm; but that's work, who cares about that? Let's talk about the fun stuff.
I have quite the sense of humour; but it's a little wicked -- without being of evil intent -- so time and place is everyting. I love companionship: mostly for walks, scenic drives, music and dinner; or just sitting, chatting and admiring the scenery.
I often enjoy fiction; in various forms. That said, I consume more non-fiction material than fiction. I have come to realise that, when I do enjoy fiction, the genre really doesn't matter, it just has to be a compelling story with compelling characters; you can forgive any shortcomings elsewhere. I don't watch many episodic series, they mostly just decay over time and leave you wondering why you are bothering; and who's got that kind of time? So when I do enjoy film it is mostly motion pictures or mini series.
I listen to music throughout my day; not constantly, just when the mood is right and the opportunity is there. As with fiction, it turns out I have no favourite genre. I like to sing, but only when I know the song is in my range and mostly when I am alone.
I keep track of all manner of topics -- please see my interests (above) for an idea.
I mostly keep fit by rowing. I don't get out on the water much in Australia so I use a (good) indoor rower as it's a means to an end and is very convenient. I also find it pretty hard to get hold of a nice wooden rowing boat here. They just don't seem to have them for hire here like they do in Europe.
- First Date
- I'm pretty flexible but, weather permitting, a walk in a park and a chat. A row on the river is always beatiful, but it's difficult to find a nice rowing boat for hire in Perth. Following that up with dinner is always nice.
