I'm a Retired Christian/Conservative that is looking for a like minded long term companion. My preference is marriage at some point but I'm aware of the challenges that Social Security can cause for a widow and the loss of her benefits if she were to remarry. The possibility of a religion based marriage ceremony to meet Christian requirements without the legal marriage license is a possible consensus to avoid the Social Security fiasco. I have not thoroughly researched this but I'm just throwing the idea out there for the ladies that see my profile and think no way for marriage. This issue was brought to my attention by a widow that I dated briefly.
I am in the process of growing my beard back and I will look like the photo with the shortly cropped beard. For the right person in my life the beard is expendable if you don't care for it. I can go either way on whether I have it or not. I have found that quite a few women do like it though. On the flip side regarding my potential soulmate, my turn offs are tattoos and short hair above the shoulders.
Also worth mentioning is: that I am only interested in relationships with Caucasian women and women of Asian decent. And even then those women have to be already in the U.S. legally. I do not have the resources to sponsor a person that is not in the U.S. legally. U.S. laws do not make it easy to sponsor someone from outside the U.S. I get a lot of replies from African women outside the U.S. I have no interest in women from African decent or even mixed African decent, whether they are in the U.S. or outside the U.S., so please don't waste your time or mine.
I don't do the bar scene or clubs and I'm not marijuana friendly which is one of the reasons I'm on this website looking for my soulmate.
I like watching older comedy sitcoms, adventure/action movies which I do have a rather large DVD collection of. I like walks on the waterfront or beach just before sunset and if on the east coast of Florida I like walking the beach just before sunrise which I did frequently when I lived in Fort Lauderdale 6-7 years ago. Early Sunday mornings are the most tranquil, peaceful time of the day especially when everyone else is still snoozing. I also try to walk daily for exercise when the weather permits which is most of the time. I have a wide variety of interest which would give us something to talk about when getting acquainted. Some of those interest are attending car and motorcycle shows, flea markets and thrift stores and garage sales looking for bargains and things that are unique.
My music interest are 70's Southern Rock, Pop and some modern Country music with a little Blue Grass and Folk music thrown in for good measure. I also like some newer Christian Pop music. One of my favorite Christian songs is by the group called Casting Crowns and the song is Scars in Heaven and another one is Blessings by Hollow Coves. There are also other Christian songs that I like too.
Another one of my favorite songs is called "Bloom" and it is by a Australian group called "The Paper Kites". The lyrics are as follows:

On a different note:
My photos are recent and are within 6 months old. Also I am 5'11" and 185 lbs.
I can go either way on a beard. I had one for about 30 years and shaved it off about 6 months ago and now most of it has grown back but it is rather short.
One last note, I am not interested in anyone that is older than me, not even by a day.
