My story: I am a single parent who has strong faith in Christ & am active in education, sports, cooking (menu below), cutting my boys hair, cleaning, fixing many things that break in a big family, camping (see below), biking, & reading if I get free time. In addition to teaching & homeschooling my children from grades K-8, I volunteered to be their basketball coach, soccer referee, & tennis partner.
In the foreground of my story, I've been blessed with the cast of characters ages 22, 20, 18, 16, & 13; they live with me 100% of the time (my youngest 86% of the time) and are my world as I briefly focus on transitioning them from the teen years to college and independence & would like to meet someone to be a lifelong friend & companion in life’s journey. My wife of 23 years separated in 2018 & filed for divorce in Jan 2019 & and my custody battle ended in June 2022.
I'm honest, highly organized, hard-working, a thinker, & faithful. I’ve spent 12 years as a computer programmer & changed careers to become a teacher for elementary, middle & high school students over a span of 11 years, in addition to homeschooling my own children part-time for many years & full-time for these last few remaining years. I am now embarking on the last stage of my itinerary as I return to the classroom as a math & computer science teacher.
I wish I could say my life was drama-free, but after years of marriage and commitment to my growing teens, my faith in Jesus gives me the resolve to work through the drama not around it. I’m looking for a fellow sojourner to join me, whose life story I look forward to discovering as we write our own plot & work through new experiences in writing a new narrative whose end hearkens to our new home.
