A good relationship is comprised of two people that do several things well...
- They willingly accept each other as they are.
- These two people bear with each other, giving the other person space to be different and unique.
- They are patient with each other, cutting each other some slack and avoiding demanding expectation. - Each forgives the other, which means to cope with minor setbacks or discouragement without lashing back in revenge.
These are the qualities of love that accepts, that bears forgiveness, that has patience - the quality of love that Christ wants to use to glue our marriages together.
The last – or rather - the foremost thing they do is place God and Christ at the center of their life. That is more important than either of them alone, and it is what makes them many times greater than just being together. This relationship is between, not two people but THREE, each holding up and supporting one another.
I appreciate a woman who is smart, erudite, and is touched by the above comment. If asked what is my purpose, it is to love and glorify God and put Him center stage, but to share that stage with another. My job, on the other hand, is to lift up, promote, and improve that share partner.
I like quiet living, not wild nights - what everyone else thinks its cool, or the "in thing," I probably wont. I mean, seriously, I don't know even one Taylor Swift song...and I just found out there's gonna be Super Bowl this week. I literally TRY to live outside the "normal world."
