The best description of who I am is in the tale of the sculptor who had created a beautiful sculpture. When it was finished he was asked how he'd been able to create such a work of art from the ugly stone he had started with. "I created nothing" he said, "the sculpture was always there, I merely chipped away the rest". I'd have to say, I'm probably a lot like that piece of stone, lol.
So now, the questions become, do you own a hammer, & are you willing to invest a little time to do some chipping... Because, like all of us, I'm still a work in progress... ;)
I prioritize my life simply. First is my faith & my walk with Christ, and that will always remain my top priority. Then comes my family, followed by country. ~ I guess you could say I'm that Christian, conservative, patriotic, gun owning American with family values, that liberals claim is such a threat to our nation, ~ (the same as the very people who built it, which I find ironic). ~
After those three things, everything else, are just the details. I value and live according to principles like honor, integrity and respect. Unpopular? Yeah, I know... I get alot of smirks & chuckles over them, but that's still the way it is, and the way I choose to live my life. So if someone like that is a deal breaker for you. Then it's probably for the best if you don't bother messaging me. Good luck with your search.
Though I have a degree in accounting & book keeping, I don't work in the field, it's just not for me. Actually I work as a cashier in a large retail outdoor sports store, which I really enjoy. I know, weird right?? But I absolutely love it!.... I enjoy the people, plus it works out well for me while I'm charting a course for the next chapter in my life. Could be a math teacher, maybe some aspect of the ministry, maybe back to college... lot's of options, so at this point anything is possible ;).
When I'm not busy with work, I live and work on an off-grid, self sufficient, family owned homestead here in North Idaho (no, we're NOT cave dwellers, we know the earth is round, and yes, we know about and actually have both solar electricity, AND indoor plumbing, lol). I share in it with my parents & my younger brother, though we each have our own homes. The arrangement works out well for us because while we all still have our autonomy, we are also all still able pitch in on the never ending work that needs to be done with rural living, and then reap those rewards. Between the orchard, the vinyard, the greenhouse, a breeding kennel for long haired German Shepherds, & a dab of livestock (with more coming in the future) there's no shortage of things to keep us all quite busy, lol.
When not working or homesteading, I love to go scuba diving, experimenting with cooking, going camping and fishing, & shooting whenever I can. I have also recently started hand reloading precision ammunition, as a hobby that I share in with with my dad. Although I have always been a shooter, I got into competitive shooting in JROTC, where in addition to competing, I was also the commander of the marksmanship team. I enjoy running (was a cross country runner in school). I enjoy going hiking, & mountain biking, as well as working with the breeding and training of our German Shepherds as either service animals, or protection dogs.
In my down time when I'm not being active, I spend time in church activities, with my family, or enjoy going to see a movie. I like listening to music (christian or country mostly), and spending some time training, working or just hanging out with my fur-buddy Duke (lol), as well as occasionally doing some reading.
There are, of course, other activities I would like to try, though I simply havent gotten to them yet. My bucket list includes such things as free diving, spearfishing (and yes, they DO allow that in Idaho, haha), kyaking, jet skiing, learning to ride a horse, and traveling both domestically and abroad.
