- I am a funny but serious guy once people get to know me. I may feel awkward at first, but I open up and joke a lot once I break the ice with people. A few quality relationships satisfy me more than a plethora of shallow, surface connections. To be sure, though, for my romantic relationship, only my lady would fill that role. I appreciate face-to-face interactions much more than an endless cuddling of the cellphone. That so, I would consider it rude if I am trying to have a conversation with a person, but that person is instead looking at the cellphone messages. I am easily content. Staying home is fine. Going out sometimes is also fine. I really like Karaoke! Traveling is okay, too, as long as it does not break the budget. I would like intimate shared time with another, to be sure, but I also require a certain amount of time to myself. I am a cat person as well. Spiritually, I am looking for someone whom I could help in her walk and from whom I can learn to grow in my walk. I would want someone also with similar beliefs as mine. Just a quick sketch: I have a Lutheran backdrop, but only will stay with a conservative church. If that means, going to another church, then I do. In the past, I also dabbled in the charismatic movement, but I do like more of a structure--as long as the structure does not become rigid legalism. Currently, I have shifted over from a Lutheran church to a Wesleyan church. I value patience and attentive listening. I am not a super talkative person and would want someone who is okay with that. Of course, I do joke if I feel comfortable. It would be great to have a partner I could joy around with!
- First Date
- The first date would not be over the top, since we are just first meeting each other. I feel as the man, that it is my role to pick up the tab, even on the first date. I really like coffee, so a simple coffee date might be good enough--because we will have each other! If the prospective date, though, insisted on a fancy venue, I would not object to that. On our first date, we could expect to go into more detail about our backgrounds, the particulars, as much as we are comfortable. It would also be well in place to talk about spiritual things, our walks with Jesus. We would probably have to exchange some personal information, just so we could meet, e.g. telephone numbers, but we would not do that until we have confirmed and set a date time. We could talk about family, too.
