Nothing disturbs me as when I meet people who make everything a priority and never thinks of themselves. Selflessness is not self- neglect. You can only give out what you have, no doubt. Self care is the antidote to longevity.
During the last mothers day in march, my daughter presented a card to me and something caught my heart in her description about me. "She said my mummy takes care of herself ". I love to take care of myself, it is a life long goal for me.
● That everyone is eating something and they also want you to eat it to make them happy at the detriment of your health is self neglect.
● That you refuse to rest at the expense of caring for others needs is self neglect.
● That you deprive yourself the good things of life and offer them to others, is self neglect. Who told you that tomorrow is promised to you? There is the place of sacrifice but not a continuous practice at the expense of your growth and development.
● That you are a parent does not make you the sole sufferer of your circumstances. Let everyone get a feel of the situation, let everyone make their contributions towards the progress of the family including the children ( in their own capacity) and let everyone enjoy the dividend together. This is what family intends to achieve.
