What do you think about "white hair stress marks"???

Sorry ladies...I've been hiding this from all of you. I have 2 "white hair stress marks" on top of my head. They're bound to have been caused by the enormous amount of stress that I've been through over the past several years. Although, it might've been caused by a physical injury I suffered as a result of discharging a rifle several years ago. You see, I had my eye too close to the scope when I pulled the trigger...so the scope cut into my eyebrow when the gun kicked back...and yes, it hurt pretty bad and might've damaged my vision. Thankfully, my eyesight is back to normal now.

The following information was found on the internet.

Basis of Hair Color:

Hair color derives from melanin, the pigment in skin and hair. Melanin is stimulated by a group of peptide hormones collectively named "melanocyte stimulating hormone," or MSH. Each hair follicle contains a number of pigment cells, or melanocytes. If more melanin is present, the color of the hair is darker. If less melanin is present, the hair is lighter. Physical or emotional trauma can cause body stress that affects the production of melanin.

Ok ladies...so what do you think about guys with "white hair stress marks"??? I'm curious. :)

So, THAT'S why my hair is graying in a few streaks, but not all over. If I reduce the stress in my life, will my hair go back to being it's original blonde color??

"GraceUndeserved", About the scope...yeah...no kidding! I always try to check that as a result of what happened. LOL :)

"NRSV1953", I don't know if that'll work...LOL :)

"peacenic", Is there a difference??? Yes...because I'm 24 years old! Plus, my stress marks are solid white! I actually cut and saved some of the white hair just in case it ever decides to go back to the normal color...LOL :)

"HolderOfTruth", I was rather self-conscious of it for a few years...so I wore a hat most of the time to avoid anyone saying something. I've always hated feeling like I'm the center of attention. Honestly, that's why I'm able to communicate better online than "in person"...because I'm not being stared at (center of attention)...plus, I don't feel pressured to answer instantly. The best way to for a young lady to get to know me, in person, would probably be to get me off to myself...but not to stare into my eyes...or she might frighten me! LOL :)

I can understand not liking so much attention and how it is so much easier to communicate online, through emails, or even texting. I, too, am more quiet around others. So making friends and getting to know people can be a challenge (at least face to face). For me, personally I wanted to get over that, and so I tried a different church and got involved with some of the activities there. (keep in mind I went from a really small church to a really huge church) I now go to bible studies and various groups once or twice a week aside from church on Sunday. Not to say that you should go to bible studies specifically to meet people, but in doing so you will. (I had more than one reason as to why I was looking for another church) It's a great way to learn more and fellowship. God has blessed me with meeting a lot of wonderful people. You just got to give God the reigns and let Him lead you. It's when we try to control things, that they never change or get worse. Is it still a challenge for me? Yes. Sometimes I still feel pretty clueless how to keep a conversation going or embarrass myself in some way. But it's all good. God is still there and He still loves me, and the people I am with still like me because we serve a wonderful God. We have a good time worshiping together. So it's all good at the end of the day and now I know I'm just rambling on. But yeah! Sorry. Everyone has to start somewhere. lol.

As for your hair...Have you considered coloring your hair? My aunt supposedly went all grey in high school. and that is what she does. Personally don't think you should worry about it too much, but if means keeping the hat off.. just a suggestion. Who knows, your hair could lead to some interesting conversations. When I first picture it, I thought of Reed Richards off of Fantastic Four... so if someone asks you could say you are his cousin. lol. How far can you stretch?

I don't think the hair is anything to worry about or feel self-conscious about.

Many young men and women have grey hair. Grey hair can run the the family.lol

Many Older people hardly grey.

I like a man with grey hair if he looks like Richard Greer.

My father's temples and sideburns were gray when he was 17, according to my mother. He was completely gray by the time he was 35, but used Grecian Formula on his hair. Vanity I suspect. I dont really care if I go gray, never did. I think my graying sideburns make me look distinguished.
