The CofE church has voted against ordaining women bishops: how do you ladies feel about this? Will it have any implications outside the Anglican church?

Most main-line Protestant churches in the US already ordain women as pastors, ministers, bishops, elders, deacons; in fact some have done so since at least the 1970's. And no, this will not effect those that already know the benefit of full inclusion of women.

Women are quite capable to have leadership roles as long as those roles are leading women and children and not men.

That is in the church.

In fact a company I am in partnership with is lead by the queen owner. She claims to be christian. I question some of her moral decisions like lying or trying to streach the truth.

In business I have encountered those who lied and streached the truth. It becomes a difficult situation when you are a straight shooter and their lies are revealed.

Like in the beginning lying cause us to blame shift. The devil made me do it, the man you gave me made me do it, the woman you gave me made me do it.

Good leadership is the ability to take responsibility not shift. Hiding emotionally is a type of lying we all do to some degree. We place on the happy church face and tell everyone how great life is when in fact things are crumbling down around us.

We place on masks because we fear true intimacy with others out of fear of rejection. In leadership we can not be motivated by acceptance. Unfortunitly many leadership roles come out of a individuals deep need for acceptance and they fail.

Be blessed.

I do not see anything wrong with a woman being in a leadership role -- with her husband's permission, AND a lot of prayer first.

The whole things strikes me as the fall all over again. It was satan that shifted their focus from everything they had to the little thing they didn't, and that's what they reached for, got and were cursed because of.

I'm trying to think of the benefits that women bishops will bring to the church. The media here has been incredulous that the CofE have voted against it, but the only things they can say in support of it is that the church is "out of touch" and it's not equality, whilst dismissing those who quote scriptur as being dogmatic traditionalists.

I'm not wanting to argue for or against women bishops - the CofE organization and hierarchy seems to be becoming increasingly irrelevant - but I think this neatly illustrates Jesus warning not to drag other believers before an unbelieving judge. The church is being pressured by the public to follow worldly standards and ideals; what it does next will show which master it wants to serve...

The church has always been pressured throughout time to adhere to worldly ideals and ways of thinking, the doctrines of mainstream churches disgust me. They're disgraceful and shameful, and women should not be teaching men or acting as headship.

I agree 100% Ms Marvel and Michael. We cannot allow the world to dictate.

Disgust you? Disgraceful? Shameful? Whoa lady! Aren't you being a tad bit harsh? Aren't we all one in Christ? We may disagree, but does it have to become vitriolic?
