Well, it's hard to compare since a woman can't step into a man's body and vice-versa, but from my experience, I would say yes. For example, I have had pain and tightness in my shoulders and upper back for years and I just accepted it as part of life and dealt with it. I never even considered taking medicine - why would you take medicine for sore muscles? But then I met a guy friend who has the same problem (in fact, we both go to the same chiropractor now) and apparently, he has to take lots of pain reliever medicine everyday! I couldn't believe it. I thought, well, maybe he just has more pain than me, but to be honest, my pain is pretty high and regular and I suppose medicine would help, but I just never considered it - I guess that means yes, woman can take more pain than men. :bouncy:

Hahaha!! Cattle, you are priceless!!

As ProvLady said, no one can absolutely KNOW for sure, but I can attest to what I have seen professionally. Granted, there are some whiney women, and there are some manly men, but for the most part, when I go to whip out the needles, the men cower.

Perhaps some good has come from the curse against us?

I have witnessed the birth of almost all my 14 neices & nephews. 3 of those births were home births of babies ranging from 10lbs all the way up to 10lbs 8oz. I know there is no way to prove it, but I think God had to create women to be able to tolerate more pain just for the child birthing process. I think ultimately it comes down to the person. I have had severe migraines for 10 years. I have a low grade migraine EVERYDAY. I have several male friends if they get a headache, they are grumpy. Some people learn to just deal with it and move on, while others complain and make a big whoopie out of it. Let me ask you why you are asking?

one's perception is one's reality. some people can walk across fiery coals, stick gigantic needles through themselves, quit smoking cold turkey, or fight ufc. i can't. if i'm sick i'll take my medicine. :toomuch:

I think it's a case by case situation and our mind does have a little to do with it. A soldier in battle can carry his wounded friend without thinking of his pain~~a woman will lift something too heavy normally for her to save her child~~it must have to do with the mind, our human spirit and adrenaline. But we cannot stay in that state of mind with daily constant pain~which I have but I have learned to ignore it somewhat. I also take a lot of minerals and vitamins which has helped a lot.

I think men are stronger in some ways than women and appreciate that God made them that way as I am not into women's lib at all. Thank God for Godly men~~~:applause:

Right on, Joey!

In my line of work, pain is what the person says it is and it occurs when they say it does.

Very case by case.

Not just physical, but also spiritual, social and emotional.

I'd say it's different for everyone. The science says that red-headed females feel pain the severest for some reason. But as far as really determining who can handle more pain...it's pretty much impossible to tell. Some people may think they have sever pain, but maybe it's only sever because they aren't used to it or...just because they think it is. Pain tolerance is something you build up. Anybody can do it. It's all what you're used too. Which type of pain, where it's at. It's all different.

:peace::peace:

(I do think men are tougher...for the most part...please don't hurt me:goofball:)

Hey Mark and everyone!! :waving:

Tougher is a relative term, as pain is a relative emotion.

Some deal with chronic pain different then they deal with acute pain.

Some deal with chaos better than others. (car wreck, illness of a loved one, etc.)

But another thing I have witnessed professionally, is that Christian people with a good Christian support system seem to do better than those without.

Praise God!!, :yay:

OR, if you want to look at it from a scientific point of view, you could look at this way:

Pain is a natural response in our body to warn us when something's wrong and needs attention.

Men have to hurt more because they're more hard headed!!

Hahahahahah!! Just messin with yall!!
