some girls think that it is a necessity--especially since they've grown up in a world that is material-based.

as one of the deacons preaches in my church

"get rid of what the flesh wants"

--wether it be makeup, food, beer, sex, tv, etc.

you will run into girls who are so consumed with what their flesh wants that they feel as if it makes them beautiful..but, in all reality, it masks who they really are and wastes time they could be studying God's Word

If the barn needed painting, wouldn't you paint it?

But seriously, I'm a girl who wears makeup, but I don't wear an excessive amount. I only wear enough to even out my skin tone and highlight my better features. It takes me all of 5 minutes to fix my face every morning.

Some girls/women work in professions where we have to look, well, professional. I teach college. I have to dress professionally, accessorize professionally, and the makeup pulls the look together.

Anytime that makeup becomes the first thing that you notice about a girl, she's wearing too much. Less is more in my opinion. It should be natural looking, and enhance the beauty that God gave her.

This is just my opinion, though. I'm curious to see what other girls have to say on the issue!

Hey chip!! :waving:

I don't know why some girls wear so much makeup, generally speaking, I don't. However, there are occasions that call for it and in those cases, I do.

I do understand bcpianogal's point. She has a profession that sortof requires it, I don't. Actually, when I first started in EMS, I'd wear a little bit of mascara. Then, one rainy day, I had to work a wreck and ended up looking like Alice Cooper! Haha! It was an embarrassing lesson learned! (btw, now if I wear mascara, it's water-proof!!)

I reckon it's just a personal preference.

I totally agree with bcpianogal. As long as it looks natural for the most part and doesn't scream "look at me, look at me!" then it's a really good thing. I take pride in presenting what God gave me in an attractive and confident way. There's nothing wrong with embracing our femininity as long as our motives are pure.

Most guys I know like to see a woman dressed nice and wearing a little but do not like the cartoon character look, little is more.
