what to ask to figure out if someone is a Christian in the first couple conversations...Posted : 31 Oct, 2010 06:06 PMOK, so I guess it's easy to see if someone is a Christian on sites like these, or even secular sites if someone puts it in their profile. But how about when you meet someone not at church. Is there anything you normally say or ask that would prompt someone to say something about if they go to church or are a Christian or something? |

what to ask to figure out if someone is a Christian in the first couple conversations...Posted : 31 Oct, 2010 06:22 PMWell, first of all, I've discovered, as I'm sure you have too, that not everybody on here are who they portray themselves to be. |

what to ask to figure out if someone is a Christian in the first couple conversations...Posted : 31 Oct, 2010 08:40 PMI don't think it is easy to see if someone is a Christian on this site. I dated a man from this site and it wasn't until after I had met him that I realized he was "coasting" on his Christianity. He'd been a Christian for a long time and so didn't go to church much anymore or read his Bible much. Been there, done that was his attitude. |

what to ask to figure out if someone is a Christian in the first couple conversations...Posted : 1 Nov, 2010 08:51 AMI agree with Sparrow. To try to answer the request at hand, I would say ask what denomination and why. Denomination might not matter much, but it's a great way to segue into their specific beliefs of what/who God is, what Hell is, etc, all the basics to see where your beliefs do and do not match up and if they might have a more biblically accurate picture than what you had! Or not, lol, people are bound to disagree on things. |

what to ask to figure out if someone is a Christian in the first couple conversations...Posted : 1 Nov, 2010 08:01 PM*sigh* I keep meeting men that look like what I think of when I think of "an attractive male" but then they give no hint of Christianity, so I was hoping for a magic sentence or question that I could ask them that would make them go "You go to church? me too! Jesus has been so good to me today. Would you come to a service with me sometime?" *bigger sigh* |

what to ask to figure out if someone is a Christian in the first couple conversations...Posted : 1 Nov, 2010 08:15 PMYou can always ask them if they know if they're going to Heaven...if they know for sure, they're a Christian. If they don't, you have an opportunity to witness to them...explain how they can know. |

what to ask to figure out if someone is a Christian in the first couple conversations...Posted : 1 Nov, 2010 08:25 PMyeah - true. I can see it now. When my husband tells the grandkids how we met it will be a great story of how I stumbled through trying to witness to him... :) but hey, that's how we get better, right? Practice! |
