I was just curious what people thought of my profile and if anyone had any suggestions.
--------------
I am a friendly guy who values loyalty and integrity. And if I find you interesting I will be a good listener. Otherwise I can't make any promises (j/k ). I strive everyday to put others before myself. If you need someone to just be quiet and listen to your problems, you shall wait no longer. But if you are interested in having a fun conversation and perhaps smiling (often), we might hit it off. I enjoy meeting new people and I make it a point to help others whenever I can. I am pretty open-minded and always looking to learn from others.
Jesus Christ is the most important person in my life. I have a passion for ministry and serving others. I take the Great Commission very seriously and try to use every opportunity to share the gospel with someone. I praise God for my salvation and I know that Him and Him alone has saved meI cannot do anything to gain salvation.
A favorite quote of mine comes from Charles Haddon Spurgeon, The greatest enemy to human souls is the self-righteous spirit which makes men look to themselves for salvation. The simple reality is that faith alone saves and such a faith, saving faith, is itself a gift from God.
I thank the Lord for teaching me the difference between meaningless faith and saving faith, faith that even demons have and faith that produces good works (James 2:14-26). Increase my desire to do works pleasing to Him because of, not for my salvation. For only a self-righteous spirit thinks prayers and good deeds saved them.
In regards to what I look for in a woman, honesty the most important thing is that the she is passionate about the Lord. Everything else means little.
I do ask one thing, if I wink you or message you and you have zero interest in even being my friend then simple say Your not my type. It is just more respectful to do that.
Haha, you are cute. I don't think there's anything wrong with your profile. I really liked everything I read about you and what you had to say about the Lord, and the pictures of you making various funny faces is really great too.
One thing you may want to consider is posting the link to your vlog on here, you could give that to a girl you were interested in, so she could see you speak and the way you talk, it'd be kind of like a little surprise.
I can't really say that's it's a fault either, it was just a small suggestion. I took the time to watch one of your reviews, about Star Wars, after watching I thought you were funny and probably had a lot of interesting things to say.
LOL. Turtle, I love all your comments. You are too cool.
And NPX, I agree with everything the Miss RidleySeaTurtle here said. I was just referring to your youtube vlog link on your profile, I just thought it'd be awesome to show to some special girl you were really interested in, but again it is a small suggestion and it isn't hurting your profile at all.
In regards to what I look for in a woman, honesty the most important thing is that the she is passionate about the Lord. Everything else means little.
Hi NPX7,
Your profile is really great; I enjoyed reading it. It's funny, introspective about your Christian life, and I especially liked that you were just a bit bold in asking for a response to a message or wink. You're very sweetly asking to be treated with respect. I admired that.
I just wanted to mention 1 thing that was a disappointment for me. But I'll preface that with the fact that clearly I'm older and may have a different perspective than women your age!
I was reading your profile with a lot of interest- then you said "In regards to what I look for in a woman ..." and then didn't mention anything except "she is passionate about the Lord" and "everything else means little." My thought is that I want to see that a man knows what he is looking for in a potential mate. I feel that I respect a man who shows that he is selective about his choice. Her character? What type of woman best suits your direction for the life you'd share together?--- and doesn't appear to be saying any Christian woman will do; I'm not picky.
I know your heart is to be welcoming to any woman who'd read your profile, but I think they'd like to see what you're looking for too. :)
Just my thoughts. Your obviously a great guy. You'll meet someone I have no doubt!
Good point, I suppose what I was going for was to say looks mean very little. I guess I figured the first paragraph told some of what I look for character wise. Anyway, your right...I should be a little more specific. Thanks for the suggestion.
1) Add a full-body picture. Perhaps one of you doing something on your job. That will add to the 3 interesting ones you have
2) Run a spell check/grammar check on the paragraph that starts with: "In regards to what I look for in a woman"
I echo what has been said above, though I can't give you a flipper flapper of approval because........ well........ there is only one turtle on this site. I'm just one of God's little lambs.
You're going to think I'm being mean here, and you're about to see me get slammed by some women, but know that I'm your brother because of what you said about faith and how we get it.
I only tell you this for your own good. I am rooting for you.
Don't listen to what you are being told here.
That profile makes you sound weak and desperate and it will run women off like a big hairy spider.
Sure, they would all love to have you as a friend, but in a mate, women want a guy who they can rely on. They want a guy who will protect them. They want a guy who will chamber a round, grab them by the hand, and lead them through the battle. Women want a hero.
I suspect you have some of that guy in you - maybe a lot more than you know. Let him come out.
I'm not saying be mean - you should never show disrespect or be mean. But show your strength as Christ showed his strength. God loves with tenderness, but he saves through his strength (Rev 12:10), and we crave that. We need His strength. That is what we rely on as Christians. We rely on his strength to save and keep us. And how many times is the comparison made between man and woman and Christ and the Church?
I know you wrote this remembering all the things you've heard about how women like sensitive men and how women want a guy who is "in touch" with his feelings. You're telling them exactly what they want to hear, but that is not always what they need to hear. Look at Matthew 15:26. Read John 4:18. People want to hear the truth, women especially, because how can you rely on someone unless he is not afraid to tell you the truth, no matter what it is? If you've looked at profiles, you've seen A LOT of women make it a point to say they want honesty at any cost.
So don't tell them what they want to hear. Tell them what they need to hear.
And regardless of whether you believe what I'm telling you or not, the line, "If you need someone to just be quiet and listen to your problems, you shall wait no longer," has to go! :)
And if you don't believe what I'm saying, I predict that you'll be back in a few weeks reading this again. :)
Message me if you want to. I always like talking to those who believe sovereign grace.
Thanks for the input. The line about being one who listens to others actually comes from my personal experience of losing my mother 10 years ago (senior year of high school). But in any event you make a good point.
Hmmm...VKWV1 your comments were certainly revealing about you.
I believe we are rooting for our brother, too, that's why we took the time to answer his request (Ask a Girl). I responded only for myself, and I alone know what I find appealing. If I were to go into ALL the things I look for, want, need, don't know that I need, etc...well, it would just take too long. NPX7 (as do you and all the brothers here) has a tiny opportunity to catch someone's attention as the Lord provides. Lord willing, He will then have a lifetime to be the man of God he needs to be to his partner.
I appreciate many of the things you wrote also! Well done! It is delightful and refreshing that you get 'us' in many ways. But don't decide you know what I need to hear. ("So don't tell them what they want to hear. Tell them what they need to hear.") You may be misunderstood as being controlling and tyrannical.
I don't "slam" people...too difficult on the flippers at my age! BUT I do take exception to my comments (that were written with love and respect and were hopefully approved by God as to be encouraging) being dissed as something to not be listened to. You do not even know me! I also did not appreciate that you wrote to NPX7 as if I would not even be reading your response...like you were "talking" right over me as if I wasn't here.
I would like to make a prediction myself. I predict that NPX7 will be back here very soon, also...to inform us he has met some nice sisters in Christ whom he would like to get to know better.
