When the girls of Shiloh come out to join in the dancing, then rush from the vineyards and each of you seize a wife from the girls of Shiloh......So that is what the Benjamites did. While the girls were dancing each man caught one and carried her off to each his wife." Oh things were so much simpler in the old days.....lol Have you have ever wished for a man sweep you up and make you his wife. What are your thoughts or comments as you actually think about the girls of Shiloh. *peeking thru the grapevines* Post Reply

In the story, those Shiloh girls must have perceived the Benjamites to be good husband materials that anyone will do haha. In their time also, way of life is much simplier, such an exercise to get a wife might be common practice. So, what is common practice of today to get a wife? ... and to keep a wife? Rocket science! Yes, wifing and baby-making are still things, and a lot of women still aspire to those things, but I'm glad to live in a time and place where I'd be allowed to slap him in the face and demand he let me go. There are some very disturbing stories in the Bible of men taking wives, and I agree that those would be the source of many a question if I made it to Heaven. Post Reply
