Is it wrong for a Christian woman to dye her hair?

Didn't God give you the right color? Why fool with what He gave ya? :goofball:

I really don't think it matters, at worst it could look terrible and is incredibly high maintenance. I really do not think it is a Biblical or ethical issue unless it is consuming a ton of the person's time/focus. Although it might be an ethical issue if you have a problem with all of the chemicals and animal-testing that sometimes go with it.

I used to dye my hair all the time, but I've been letting it go natural for a while and it's changing on its own anyway (getting browner over time).

When I started going grey at 17, I dyed my hair - but my natural (non-grey) colour. A few years later I had to stop, as it was too expensive for a poor college student. Fortunately, I had stopped greying (not looking that gift horse in the mouth).

As my 30s came and started going, I began greying more. And more, and in my eyebrows etc. Then I freaked out a bit and began colouring my hair again, but again, my natural, non-grey, colour.

Sometimes I put bright red streaks in it, just for fun.

Upon my divorce and my re-entry into the dating pool, my self-esteem, still reeling, nudged me to colour my grey again. And I did for about a year, but over the last few months, I have been feeling very convicted about spending money frivolously and simplifying my life. Friends have argued to me that my $10 bottle of hair dye once every six weeks isn't wasteful/frivolous; I had a vision one night wherein I met a young third-world citizen in heaven, and I had to explain to her that yes, I could have provided her family clean drinking water but I chose to hide my grey hair instead. (I've also stopped getting acrylic fingernails.)

So my answer to "is it wrong for a Christian woman to dye her hair?" is No. Is it wrong for me? I believe so.

Is it wrong, no there is freedom in Christ.

The Holy Spirit convicts each soul when we are doing wrong. I suggest coloring hair might be the least of His concerns. If a woman feels coloring her hair doesn't glorify God, then stop it.

I've colored my hair and look twenty years younger than my two best friends and one is 8 years younger than I. The other is also younger but not by much.
