Why photos in the car?

So I have noticed that a large percent of the profiles of women have self portrait photos taken of them in the driver seat of the car. Why is this such a popular location/photo option? Of all the locations I would never think to take one of myself in my car. So I am curious.

In the American mind a person's vehicle is a sign of prestiege. To drive the vehicle does say who is in control like Sparrow says. In today's economy a woman owning a vehicle is also something inferred so others will think they are self-sufficient.

So the vehicle profile pic says I am self sufficient, I am in control and I am economically not depending on others to get my touche around...

I think I've said this semantically well while hitting the button square, perhaps you might agree?

Shawn, many many (lots and lots) of men have pics of their cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, etc. in their profiles. They sit, they stand, they are outside, they are inside ---- sometimes more than one in the same profile. So it is not just ladies.

If I were to take one, it would probably be because I thought it might make a good picture for someone. Can't speak for anyone else.

I'm glad someone asked this question. I was always wondering that myself.

I agree with Godslamb, I've sort of seen more pictures of the men in their cars, than I have of women, but I sort of don't look at many female profiles, so I guess I wouldn't know.

Either way, I totally don't mind a good picture in the car.

A picture's a picture.
