In the book of James, chapter 1, verses 22- 25, it reads :
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your
own selves.
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a
man beholding his natural face in a glass:
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway
forgetteth what manner of man he was.
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth
therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this
man shall be blessed in his deed.
This being true, should righteous men consider women professing Christ to be deceived, if they refuse to acknowledge, obey, or conform to 1Timothy 2:8-10 and 1 Peter 3:3-6, once they have been lovingly taught and exposed to these spiritual instructions?
Should women be avoided, who show very little, or no concern for modesty, shamefacedness, and sobriety, or who express dislike, or negative comments towards these verses?
The verses read as follows:
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands,
without wrath and doubting.
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest
apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair,
or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good
works. 1Timothy 2:8-10
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the
hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not
corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is
in the sight of God of great price.
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who
trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their
own husbands:
Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord: whose daughters
ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any
Yes, we should love them as Christ loves them. Christ's love commands accountability, so how should righteous men respond to women like those in questions 1 & 2? This is what I am seeking specific comments on.
Modesty is not an option, but a righteous requirement of the Lord
Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon, The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers, The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings, The rings, and nose jewels, The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins, The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that
remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters
of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the
midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of
burning.
And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount
Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the day time from
the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. Isaiah 3: 16-26, 4:1-6
The Bible is the written word of God....There is only one central theme: TO RESCUE MANKIND. Through reading and studying the Bible we come to understand what God is like - His thoughts, His ways, His plans and His promises.16 All Scripture is God-breathed and us useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2Tim. 3:16-17)
The beauty of men and women is seen inside. God does not after of the outward appearance but He is after of the inward appearance.
We must put into practice what we preach, reach, heard and learned from His word. At the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. What is seen outside is the reflection of what is really inside.
It is no longer our own beauty but the Glory of the Lord is seen in our individual faces.
How? must have intimate relationship with our Almighty God. Surrendered and committed life to Him.
