View Profile History	Nice Guys!! Posted : 12 Sep, 2010 09:43 AM I like Kenny Rogers too! As far as being a nice guy like the guy portrayed in "Coward of the County," I think that's okay. I doubt that many women are looking for a guy who's constantly getting in brawls and bar fights and things like that. In the song, the guy's wife is raped (I guess?) by 3 men and so the main guy decides that being a man, in this instance, isn't about turning the other cheek, but about fighting. I think a real man will find a middle ground... that place between being the tough guy/fighter and being completely passive. There is strength in holding back, but it's not always right to hold back. This is where discernment and wisdom really come into play and why it's so important that a guy is close with God. Now that I'm really thinking about the song, it makes me wonder why he wrote it... Like what his inspiration was... Post Reply
