I need a little help figuring out a b-day present for my adorable little sister. She is not so little I guess, since she is 24 but she is still my baby sister nonetheless.
I wanna be prepared for her b-day in advance and Im just looking for ideas as to what might be the perfect present for her. I don't know anything about what women want so Im hoping to get some gud advice from y'all as to what a sister might be expecting from her big brother for her b-day?
It would probably depend on what activities she likes.
For example, if she likes the arts (plays, musicals), you could get her tickets for the both of you to go together and watch a play she might like.
If she likes the outdoors, you can get plan a camping trip with some of her closest friends (you and her also).
I like receiving practical gifts, so one time I got a printer as a gift. I was in graduate school and used it a lot to print papers all the time. I still use it to this day. One of the better presents I received in my life. Last year my brother got me a gift card for a bookstore, so I could buy books for seminary. Really sweet and I appreciated it. I hate buying shopping for clothes and specially shoes. My mom bought me a pair of shoes, so I would replace an old worn out pair. For me, something practical works, specially if I have said at some point that I need to replace something.
I agree with the practical, and the interest related gift ideas. Also though, I don't know if you are that close with her but if you have a picture of the two of you (or family?) you could get it framed for her to have. It sounds conceited... but it's not because it's of both of you.
I would say maybe do something personalized. Not necessarily with her name on it, but something that is personal to her. If you have a favorite memory from when you were younger, put together something that would make her remember it. Or favorite foods, or items in favorite colors, stuff like that that shows it was just for her.
Of she likes coffee, a gift card to her favorite coffee shop or restaurant could be good. Also to favorite stores and what not. :)
(I'm trying to think of things that my brothers have gotten me that I enjoyed. :) )
Well, I don't have any older brothers, but I can still tell you my favorite things I've gotten from my sisters over the past few years.
1) A Mag-light. You know, one of those really big, heavy flashlights that can double as a weapon when needed? Yeah, one of those. Who knows when it'll come in handy!
2) A travel mug for my morning coffee. It keeps my coffee hot all the way to work!
3) The latest CDs released by my favorite performers. I listen to them in the car on the way to work each day, and thoroughly enjoy them.
4) Gift cards for Starbucks. I don't normally spend $5 on a cup of coffee unless I have a very good reason to. A gift card lets me enjoy my favorite Mocha guilt-free (except for all those calories!)
5) Jewelry. Beaded necklaces, dangly earrings, classy hoop earrings, pendants, etc. A girl who loves her jewelry can never have too much of it!
6) An ID wallet. The Vera Bradley one that I've been coveting for a long time! I refuse to spend that much on a tiny wallet for myself, but it is SO cute!
7) Books. I love to read, so when someone gives me something new, I enjoy it greatly!
If you sister has any specific interests, try to find something that caters to that. If she collects certain items, it's might be great to help her add to that collection. If she loves to shop but can't afford to, give her money, gift cards, or take her on a shopping spree. If she loves to be pampered, get her a spa package.
