What do you do when you have "one of those days" where you really miss having a partner? You don't necessarily want to go anywhere or do something. You just need a hug and to know someone cares. Some physical contact from someone who loves you.

I feel a bit sheepish about posting this after not being very sensitive in a post I made the other day. But I will post this anyway and suffer the embarrassment!

Those days are tough and I ask God to help me get through it and to feel His arms around me at this time. To be content in this moment sometimes is hard for me because I am a VERY affectionate person.

Thanks Roxy, I know in my head that is the right thing to do.....

I do have good friends and was out with some tonight, so that helps a lot. I do appreciate that you took the time to respond.

Many times God allows us to wrestle in our emotions. I have learned it brings Him honor when we restle really long in finding Him.

The bible verse that says work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

These times of great emotional destress are such times.

The beautiful thing is this.

Its like dating, We work hard to find a good woman to relate with, right?

We look foward to the rewards of relating along the way as we persue a relationship with the opposite gender.

The same goes for God. He has reached out to us and he wants us to move toward Him in out time of need. Especially in our deep emotional destress.

Have you ever been wrapped in Gods Love so greaty that it just over wealms you?

You feel like a crazy person and the tears burst out uncontrollably. After that you bigin to laugh because God is filling your heart with such joy that you were unable to contain it?

This is a renewing time that God has for every child of His. But many times we have to wait and struggle to get to this point.

I remember long times with God that He seemed to be absent and I couldnt find Him, then bam there He was.

After that I would just sit in His presence and enjoy His Glory. Listening to Him and allowing His Love to be my guide.

In His Love,

Michael

I know your words are true and many times in my life I have felt the presence of the Lord in my life.

When I get in that "state" of feeling alone that is satan working on me, that is my week spot. The one area I don't reach out for help in, its not manly to feel that way and I am afraid to share that emotion so as not to appear as being weak.

Thank you for your words...Paul

When I feel like that, I think about all the starving children in the world, the children who are victims of landmines in places like Afghanistan and how they have to grow up physically handicapped, and then I think about how lucky I am to have all my limbs, a job to enable me to take me to Taco Bell, and a family to support me in the event anything tragic ever did happen to me.

That always seems to make me more grateful and get out of any sort of funk I might be feeling. If that doesn't work, perhaps we should call up Dr. Phil. lol

Oh, one more suggestion. Go to Taco Bell... no one can be depressed and lonely after eating a bunch of tacos...

Yes, there really one of those days when longing for a partner is strong, wishes for a harmonious companionship fills my mind, believing life is better lived with someone I am intimate with emotionally, mentally ... in such moments I pray more and strive to trust and believe in Gods timing then have a date with a good book. Reading takes off the longing. Not that I believe I will be more knowledgeable but that reading helps me cope with stress.

Yes, getting busy is the best medicine. I do have wonderful friendships and family that I can be with to serve and do Gods work!
