Admin	Why no polite responses? Posted : 20 Dec, 2013 10:40 AM Am I the only one who considers it rude to not receive a response after sending a friendly and sincere e-mail to a woman who may be friend material and the will of the Lord for what could come later? I respond to every e-mail that I receive whether I know I am not interested or suspect the sender is a scammer. I believe that to the polite thing to do. I never assume anything more than a friendship and often just write to encourage someone with a profile that I want to comment on. I know it's not my breath!! Post Reply

Posted : 21 Dec, 2013 12:48 AM well, there are over 1000 people here, everyone with his/her own ways. expect a lot, including neglects. if someone doesn't respond, go on, many will respond. it simply means,"i don't want to waste your time, move on to the next profile" don't be bothered, because she is interested in nothing about you. Posted : 21 Dec, 2013 05:49 AM Brick, if I see in the person's profile that he may be a scammer or if he starts off with how lovely I am, or how he would like to hook up, or he sends me his phone number and i.m. address, waaaay too soon on an introductory email, then I ask myself, do I feed the fire? Or do I let it die out? I would say about 90% of the emails that I've received are from people that have been banned by the next day. Sad. Another factor is that the person you emailed may not have the time to answer your email if you had some questions. Or they have distance or age restrictions set in their heads but not on their profile. Or they don't have the "connection" to your profile, for whatever reason. It doesn't mean that you aren't a likeable guy. Far from it! It means that you have picked the wrong one(s) to email, so as any good marketeer knows, you send out 100 direct mailings and you get a 1/2% to 2% response, then you narrow that response down to the one and after emails, phone conversations, meeting up, dating, courtship...if it still doesn't work out, you start anew. It's a process. I learned in my marketing classes that you may target in on a certain audience (for example, a specific zip code for the wealthier clients...90210, lol!) but you have to apply the same rules, targeting in better after reading the profiles, praying about it, and getting the "green light" before initiating the mail-out to someone. I too have experienced this..." let me not waste each others time" as one person put it. I am a female who dates interracial so to much of my surprise when I sent winks or messages and received no reply, I thought one or two things...there are a lot of racist Christians on this site. And the second was perhaps it's my location and optimism is lacking. Despite it all, remember honey their lost, friend or lover... you probably have one of the kindest, warmest, biggest hearts. Posted : 22 Dec, 2013 02:30 AM I could say "Yeah that would be nice if everyone would respond to every message," but "Get used to and even expect it," would be more helpful I think. I'm not saying be cynical, but it is the reality in this setting so it's important to do your best to learn to just accept it with equanimity. Post Reply
