Admin	Winks and messages. Posted : 25 Apr, 2014 01:36 PM What do winks mean? I sometimes get them but don't know how to take them. I think I'd much rather get a message. Why don't you respond to messages? Sometimes I send a message and get no response. I don't respond to most messages from other countries and from ladies who I wonder why they would want to talk to me anyway as they are 10+ years younger and pretty, (2-3 at least I know were scams), and live like ten states away. But anyone who is like within a state or two I reply. But, I don't know what to do with winks. Thank you. Post Reply

I myself went as far as to express my dislike for winks in my profile, yet I still receive them! But to be honest if when reading that persons profile who extended a wink to me and there may have been some common interest, I might respond. But to date, that has been very, very rare!! A "wink" to me signifies that either you aren't a big conversationalist or your just throwing your line out "testing" the waters to see if you'll get a bite(smile)!! That of course goes for women as well as men! Some have said that if the person being winked at is thought to not be in the person sending the winks' "league"............well not getting a response to the wink is an easier rejection pill to swallow, then from a written message that time and thought was put into! Either way it goes, getting a short, thought out introduction of oneself, in my opinion, will always get my attention! I will more than likely respond, even if after viewing their profile and not really seeing any common interests! I'd be responding just out of common courtesy. Hey you never know what may come out of just conversing(smile)!! Have faith my brother, hang in there for you are certainly not alone(smile)lol!! Post Reply

If you're responding to a wink then there's a much higher chance (i.e. some chance rather than no chance!) you'll receive a reply to your message. Post Reply

If someone sends you a wink,check their profile,if you feel okay with it,give a wink back or start coversation. I think it was put there with a good intention but our perception is what is wrong. The few times that I've taken the time to send a "first" email, there is often no response. So I've taken all that time to try to think out something nice to say . . . and then nothing. But if I just click "favorites" or send a wink, often there isn't a response either. It would be nice if the other party would at least acknowledge that they got the emails. <sigh> Post Reply
