How do you define a "strong Christian"?Posted : 10 Nov, 2010 07:33 AMOne thing I have noticed on profiles is women seeking a "strong Christian", spiritually speaking. I would like to ask women how you define that? What is your definition of a "strong Christian"? |

How do you define a "strong Christian"?Posted : 10 Nov, 2010 07:50 AMI don't list either as things I would like in a man on my profile, but I don't see being a "strong Christian" as the same as being a "spiritual leader", although anyone who wants to be a spiritual leader better be a strong Christian. |

How do you define a "strong Christian"?Posted : 10 Nov, 2010 08:55 AMYeah, I would say that too, maraikashome, that a "strong Christian" is another expression for having a "strong faiith" in God, unwaveringly being assured by the Holy Spirit's testimony to your heart and spirit that you have been saved by your faith, period, in Jesus and His self-sacrifice for you, paying your sin-debt through His atoning death and resurrection, that you KNOW you CAN"T lose your salvation and respond in love, accordingly, to what you know when you have trials, tempatations and weaknesses that you fail to overcome, resist or pass, repenting as you know you need to, receiving God's loving forgiveness eaxh time these happen, and moving on from them, restored and more joyous in your heart in your relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, perhaps, hopefully, than you had been before ... and you are growing in Christlikeness as you go through your personal "walk of faith" and the sanctification process the Holy Spirit is guiding you through in this life. |

How do you define a "strong Christian"?Posted : 10 Nov, 2010 11:06 AMI would define a strong Christian as someone who is continually seeking to be more completely satisfied in Christ. Things like going to church regularly, reading the Bible more than a handful of times a week, being involved in a community group, reading Christian books, etc. are good signs, but don't necessarily prove anything definitively. You have to get to know someone to find out if their joy is in Christ. |

How do you define a "strong Christian"?Posted : 10 Nov, 2010 02:36 PMEerily enough, I think Twosparrows just demonstrated exactly what I would call a "strong Christian". Anybody who is not in it to get into Heaven/stay out of Hell, or to be able to tell other people they are wrong, but to love God and Christ and all the people of the world. |

How do you define a "strong Christian"?Posted : 10 Nov, 2010 06:31 PMYou would have to be around the person to discern for sure. But some indications: They read their Bible more than three times a week. They attend church more than just Sunday mornings. Are involved in at least one ministry area in church (mens group, greeter, helper, teacher, etc.) and have the fruits of the Spirit demonstrated in their lives. |

How do you define a "strong Christian"?Posted : 13 Nov, 2010 07:55 PMI don't understand this as well because as you go through life you go through trials and you grow stronger. After each storm God give you the tools to better equip you for the next storm. We have not arrived until the Lord calls us home. Me, personally, seeks a God fearing man who puts God in the center of his life and simply walks with the Lord. Will he fall yes, just like I do. It's when man and woman form a union/ministry in marriage and they grow in Christ together and build each other up. I will build my King up in Christ and vice versa. I agree that is a very high expectation and quite honestly an unrealistic expectation. I think what they might be referring to is a committed Christian not just a go to church every Sunday Christian or what I've heard someone else called it "sponge Bob" Christian. Goes to church, soaks it all up and does nothing with it - stagnate. But I could be wrong. |
