Gals Oozing sweetness....me; BAM!
Posted : 16 Nov, 2010 03:06 PM

There has been 3 times I have felt bad about my posts on this site ; today was one. It is not that I felt I was wrong, but I came across as harsh and abrupt. You women come across so gentle and natural oozing sweetness,... well at least 3 weeks out of the month. (oops there I go again). When I see scripture being twisted or hypocrisy; I'm like BAM! deal with it quick, cut it out before it grows. I know it usually doesn't work well. But I feel being all sweetness and spice doesn't do any better. It seems one way kills the heresy or hypocrisy but takes the person with it And the other way leaves both alive and diseased.

Any thoughts or advice?

You ask the Ladies if we have any thoughts?! Heck yeah - we always have thoughts.

But seriously, you should not try to change the person you are. However, having said that..... as you have already discovered -- when you are talking to a mixed audience (as these Forums surely are) then you need to modify a bit. Think, pray, and edit before clicking the [Submit] button. (My personal axiom)

I encourage you to continue to share your thoughts and insights, 2Sp. All perspectives and viewpoints are valuable and food for thought.

Two, you ask, "Any thoughts or advice?"...well, let me see if I can put what I think in horse terms:

If a horse is doing something that you know could immediately endanger themselves or others, discipline is usually quick (abrupt) and to the point...."BAM". But, if you are training a horse...your methods could vary quite a bit, dependent on how well you know the animal and what it is capable of understanding and doing at that point in it's life and training. One doesn't immediately barge in with a whip just because you see something that needs correcting. Same could be said for children. Same could be said for dealing with people.

It is not necessarily about oozing sweetness. Some of it is an attempt to discern where a person is coming from and in which direction they are going. Sometimes it isn't about condoning, but about building a relationship and establishing trust. And, many times it isn't about being right or wrong...it's about looking straight into the eyes of the soul and accepting, loving and ministering to who is there and what they need, regardless of how things appear in the physical.

With that being said, we all don't get it right 100% of the time. The best that we can do when we feel that we're in the wrong is to apologize and move forward. We can't force someone to forgive or give us a second chance. Most everything is a heart issue...:-) and the Holy Spirit (who is the one doing the work any which way ya look at it) uses each of us in ways we'll never know or understand. We are each with the personality God gave us and there is a purpose and time for all.......perhaps, most especially your horse wisdom...lol.:goofball:

Just need to tone it down a bit, not even that much. I really think this is why God puts men at the head "spiritually". Women do come to the defense of the scriptures, but guys put the line down(sometimes too hard and in the wrong place, lol....I'm guilty!). Luckily, when a man/woman come together, you get a nice mix of compassion/steadfastness! Yay!. Just like Jesus! Which is what we all should be heading for anyway!

@alycorn ; thanks for calling it like it is. You know you can get away with it cause you think I'm sweet on you!

@Godslamb ; Thank you; you reminded me how much it turns a woman on when her opinion is valued.

@Godshandiwork: thank you, what could be better than a horse analogy...you found my sweet spot!
