WISDOM vs RELATIONSHIP
Posted : 21 Nov, 2010 02:31 PM

David, a man after Gods own heart.

A relationship with God that would never part.

The wisest man ; Solomon.

Led astray by foreign women.

What truth is there here to glean?

Oh Lord, show me what this means.

Can wisdom be that great,

if wisdom cannot control my fate?

Did Jesus come so we'd be smart?

Or because we and God should never part?

Will not relationship see us all the way?

Is this not the very reason Jesus cried and prayed?

In the end wisdom is a bust.

It is only in relationship that we can trust.

BAREFOOT WOW!!!!, twosparrows!!! Another GREAT poem!!! :applause::applause::applause:

But, honestly, I believe you can have BOTH wisdom and relationship blessing your life ... God's wisdom through His Word, as enlightened in you by the Holy Spirit, enhances and helps your relationship with God to grow and mature as you walk in faith, wisdom AND relationship with Him!!! :glow::glow::glow:

Wisdom, what would we do without you;

Could we ever know what was really true?

Without this precious gift,

Faithfully given to all who ask,

Navigating wisely the seas of life

Would seem to be an impossible task.

But because we know who we are in Christ

And the wiles of the enemy that we each fight,

It's not as hard as it would otherwise be

To realize that ours is the final victory!!!

@barefoot

:applause: Great poem yourself! :yay:

I agree with you, but I suspect more people think they can get to heaven through wisdom.or knowledge than relationship. So here is some food for thought, (the chicken and the egg) which comes first wisdom or relationship? There just so happens to be a well known perfect scripture verse to answer this!

If not because of the broken relationship betwen God and maniknd,He should have not sent Jesus.

But God did because God man relationship is what He wants.

Wisdom comes to every man that fears Him.

Will I be wise if I choose what to believe when it comes to His word?

Is it called wisdom to say/think that I will be saved because I belong to a certain group/organization?Or because I know a lot about theology.

Weighting relationship and wisdom.I think both are important.

my thoughts olny:peace::peace:

Thanks, twosparrows!!!

And that's sad that there are people who believe they can get to Heaven through wisdom or knowledge instead of through faith in Jesus' atoning sacrifice for all mankind, period!!!

Wisdom and knowledge enhance our relationship with God but are NOT the perfect, sacrificial Lamb of God who alone could pay our sin debt and thus save us through our faith in Him who showed us "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life"!!!

Reverent, loving respect ("fear") of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom ... as the Scripture reveals that you're referring to, twosparrows.

TO:BFGTL&TSp,what wonderful poems!!!:applause::applause::applause: but remember,David did had The Lord on his side,but still looked at Bathsheba & Solmon had the most wisdom that anyone ever had,even to write most of Proverbs,but still married to many women of false relgion.From that,i've learned this:When we pray & give thanks to The Almigty,we are making a RELATIONSHIP with HIM which we then will RECIEVE WISDOM BEYOND OUR IMAGINATION!!!

Great poems guys!

I do ask for wisdom daily because the bible says, if anyone lacks wisdom to ask for it liberally. This girl does!

But I have to say that Jesus came for relationship over everything else and that is how we learn, grow and mature. He is wisdom, but we still need it to keep the relationship on the right track.

Philosophy, on the other hand, can be a stumbling block if we think we are soooooooo wise! Are philosophy and wisdom very close or the same? Hmmm~thinking about that one. :)

On my profile,put a headline "Be wise with faith" Relationship(with God) + Guidence(from God)=Wisdom(from God).
