What notes do you have scribbled in your Bible? Or lovingly written? Poems, sayings, sermon topics, etc.

I have the Nicene Creed and the Apostles Creed, but I also found this. I believe it was said by one of my professors in college:

Come and see your Savior

wrapped in swaddling words

and laying in a text

This is My God!!!! (1 Timothy 3:16)

Bondservant - someone who gave themselves wholly to their master and didn't want to be free, they are owned by their master; A bondservant gives up the rights to their life (Colossians 4:12)

who is one of you = ordinary, bondservant = slave, laboring fervently = wrestling (Colossians 4:12)

What use are they? (Psalm 115)

Oh goodness! I have SO much stuff written in my Bible... mostly just encouraging insights I get while reading it or my own subheadings to help me find stuff. Some of the notes are pretty personal, like about bulimia and body image and stuff... I have little doodles in there that I absentmindedly drew while reading. I also underline stuff like crazy. There are stickers all over the inside covers too. And it's falling apart badly. There's tape all over it. There's also tons of stuff stuffed between the pages. Stuff from like forever ago. Like, I have this birthday card that my Sunday School teacher from back in the early 80s sent me and little things like that in there. I have this bookmark in there that I made in Cubbies. In other words, my Bible is a messy place -- but in a good way. If my home caught on fire, it would seriously be the first thing I'd grab because I NEED all the notes and everything in it.

Anyway... the notes... Here are a few...

x By Exodus 2: "God keep me safe =)"

x By Leviticus 14:4-7: "washed in the blood and freed"

x By Judges 6: "No excuses =) Follow God no matter what"

x By 2 Samuel 17:47: "My deliverance is not in my physical resources but in God."

There are dozens and dozens more =)

These bible notes are a great idea! I normally don't write or mark the pages but i do have an abundance of torn scraps of paper marking pages to remind of something inspirational for what.. I forget..:dunce:

There's also plenty of crumbs and coffee dribbles from the hole in my lip:ROFL:

When I first got saved, I thought it would be a good idea to highlighten some of the scriptures that were a great inspiration to me. Then as my walk with the Lord deepened and I drew closer to Him I realized I needed to highlight whole pages!

God Bless,

Deborah

Thank you all for sharing -- I enjoyed reading those.

Here is one I found in Exodus 14 verses 27 and 28:

"A shadow of Jesus; blood and water deliver the people"
