Posted : 10 Jan, 2011 09:35 PM Hello, I'm not sure if other guys have had this experience, but I'd like to know why most of the women ignore me when I try to send a polite hello message to them? Are you intentionally ignoring us guys? I know I can see it when someone has read my message. Wouldn't it be better to say you're not interested... I'd rather have that. Please don't be rude anymore.

One problem is that there are a lot of profiles that aren't active but are still up. It's nothing against you, but if the girl doesn't even log in anymore, she's not going to know she got a message from you.

I guess they just aren't interested; but I'm with you on this one--- I'd rather get a polite we dont make a good match than nothing at all. chevy

I usually am at a loss as to what to say when I get a message that just says "hello" or even "Hi, how are you?" The result is that I send the "We wouldn't make a good match" message. I try not to totally ignore messages (though it has happened). Of course, I don't know exactly what you put in your messages, so if you ARE saying more than just "hello", I don't know exactly why girls are ignoring you...but it is a fairly common problem on here, and the guys like to ignore us girls too. Your profile looks fine (btw, I went to music camp at BJU for 5 summers...loved the school, but God slammed a few doors in my face when I started looking into going to college there.) Even if you send a one-sentence message, girls should be able to look at your profile and tell whether or not they might be interested. Good luck, and know that you are not the only one on here who gets ignored.

As for why girls ignore you, it's also possible that they though they had sent you a message or that they are thinking of a response. I don't always respond back write away when someone asks me a question. Then again, it could be they just don't think they should respond back.

The "sorry, not interested" button is there for exactly this reason. It only takes about two seconds and yet they can't even do that. My suggestion is to try approaching women in person instead of on a dating site. That way they're pretty much forced to respond.
